Looking nice and healthy man! How long did it take for the roots to grow through the net pot, after you transplanted them to the DWC?

I've also been trying to find out what the perfect water level is as well, is your water above or under the net cup?

Thank you.. The roots only took a few days to start growing through the net pots.. The water level submerges the bottom half of pot while flooding, and they flood every 3 hours for 15 minutes.

It's very interesting to see. I have larger pots, much larger, but mine has 1 to 3 really really LONG roots, not dozens of small roots at the same stage and length.

I wonder why that is.....

The buckets themselves don't sit IN water at any stage because its a drip system. so the roots must be going down to the bottom to get to the water....

If the plant is searching for food it will put out long tap roots vs. fine roots that are getting sprayed with tiny droplets not saturated. Also if it is searching for nutes it will also put out longer root system I believe.

That makes lots of sense.. Weird thing is some of my roots haven't taken off like others have raced away.. and the plants that have healthy looking root systems are growing like mad! Those with roots are trying to catch up to those that are already established.. I had a larger plant that was having root problems and my smaller plants caught up to it in size within days so I put the problem plant in dirt hoping it will do well..

Will post more pics soon.

Update on the grow.. I had to move out a few plants that weren't doing so well.. So now 2 sprouts are kicking it with the teens and hope the rest catch up a little to the bigger plants.. The biggest plants in here have been in the hydro system since 6-19 and were roughly 2'' tall and soon as the roots popped out net pots they took off fast with little space in between nodes... Only using CFL but having great results IMO..

Lemme know what you think..

Thank you for the response.. Yes, I've noticed the clones usually take anywhere from 8-16 days for substantial roots to show, but some clones are a little more pesky and don't wanna improve.. another thing I've noticed about cloning is that in the puck you're using to make sure the stem isn't being strangled by the puck, or you could kill the clone by it being pinched from puck. Cold water, but not icy water will also encourage clones to take off being that there is less chance for mold to grow. Thanks again.. + REP

Hello there. Yes, I've had clones die due to being choked from the puck. I keep the clones roughly 1/2 inch into the water in the bubble cloner.. Check this video of an easy cloner construction, this is the method I went with, and it works nicely.
