Yield Question

Word of caution, make sure whatever you get you account for the extra heat generated and work a system in to support this. The difference in heat generation will be a lot.

I am in a 2ft x 4ft area with a 4ft 8 bulb t-5 flouresent.
Your doing pretty good for a t-5, a lot better than most people I personally know that use t-5s to grow. You got some very sexy buds there.

If you got a more powerful light it would increase your grows for sure. There is a big advantage of t-5s though. Like wayyyyyy cheaper light bills, less heat, and the light is more spread out than coming from a single bulb.

Figure out how much your spending on nutrients, supplies, and electricity for 1 grow and divide that by the ounces you get from the total crop. Street dealers would kill for the prices that your paying for an ounce.

They look nice and healthy, but i do not get why they are single stem type plants with little to no branching
you said you veg for 5 weeks that should produce a plant that has multiple long branches and yield well over 3 oz each

normally when plants grow in this shape it is because they are in pots that are way to small or they had little to no veg time
or are under lights that are not powerful enough
also the strain you are growing , some strains will produce lots of bud allover them or make large colas other strains/phenos make clumps of buds and do not produce colas
still that does not explain why your plants have no branches

most people are full of shit. if you want more yield . the more lights. if you want to pull 2 to 5 ounces a plant average every time. then you veg a plant 2 feet tall and put 4 plants under a 600 hps. ad that's what you will get . depending on strand, 6 plants per 1000 watt hps. same idea cfl t5 you will average 1 tooo 1.5 a plant

2feet is a bit much, perhaps for soil growers its ok, and depending on strain many plants double in size if not triple during flower
quite rare for them not to stretch

in hydro plants flowered at 1ft to 1.5ft can easy grow to 3 ft and produce 3-5 oz

Save yourself the "I wish I'd done this sooner" and go with a 600 or 1,000 in a cool tube. A small oscilating fan blowing the leaves. Put a carbon filter in with a 500cfm fan pulling and you'll cover smell and dissipate the heat. If you use soil, get some dolomite lime right off rip, and your garden will run a lot smoother.

If you switch to a HPS overhead, rig up your T-5 so that it hangs from one side ( meaning all the bulbs are facing towards you, not facing down ) and get some 3000K red spectrum bulbs. Your girls will dig that, just rotate them 90 degrees every day.

would one HPS cover my 2' x 4' area??
Looks great for the light setup you have!

A 400w will cover 3x3', but mine does fine covering my 2x4' tent.

However, I'd recommend a dimmable ballast, either 600w or even a 1kW. Both can be dimmed to 50% and 75%, so it boils down to whether you can vent the heat.

Alright mica ..
Yeah those plants look good for the lights you used but your gonna double up easy with a 600 watt .. lots of good advice already given above but i would add this if its yield your after go back to the dwc when you add the 600 hps.. and a 2 wk veg would be enough depending on how many plants you run but i've done from 2-5wk veg and the latter produced more bud but had loads more trim and popcorn ..
Feel free to pop in any of the threads as i only run 600's and i've done all mediums..
