Thanks PUKKA. I'm looking forward to really maxing this one out! I think if two zips can be achieved it would really shatter peoples' perceptions of what can be done in a PC case.

Good to hear, gumball. I'm excited to be able to really segment my grows and tailor each individual stage of plant life to maximize my system. I plan on learning a lot and breaking my PR with every harvest. Huzzah!

I'm pretty excited about the LSD. It sounds like a really unique smoke, and I'm anxious to see if I can come anywhere near that crazy 24% THC level. The Crimea Blue sounds tasty. I now have it on my watch list on Attitude.

I'll be using the same ScrOG rack (with larger holes cut) and canopy height, but I will be changing my technique a bit: I'll be using defoliation; the link is well worth a read. I think this technique will really help maximize my space. As soon as she starts really branching out I'll start plucking fan leaves. I also plan on stopping the training a tiny bit sooner than I did last time (it was hard for me to time when the flowering stretch was finishing up).

I performed a nute flush this afternoon and re-upped the girl with some full strength cutting/seedling nutes.

Numbers:

pH: 6.0
PPM: 540

Looking okay. I'm definitely going to be getting a new RO filter -- my base water has a TDS reading of 350! Yech.

Here's the girl. She's looking less gimpy every day!

I haven't done anything with my reservoir in two days or so, and the numbers are looking relatively stable. I'll start topping it off with low strength veg nutes in a few more days (currently full strength cutting/seedling).

Here's the lady! She sure is growing fast.

Just found your grow. The first one looekd sick, will definitely be keeping up with this. Good luck to you dude. Also I saw you wrote this a few posts up ; * my base water has a TDS reading of 350! Yech.* What is TDS reading? Thanks dude, peace. BSG

Hey Beachside. I'm glad you were able to find us. With any luck, this grow will be even better than the first :).

Theoretically if the RO filter is working properly, RO water should have a TDS of zero. A more standard tap-water TDS is anywhere from 30-150. Most likely I just need to change my filter. I live in a rather old house and use city water, so it doesn't surprise me that the tap TDS level is so high.

Numbers:

pH: 5.6
PPM: 620

Once again, I didn't have to make any adjustments. Liquid level is getting a bit low, so I'll top it off in a couple days.

The plant is looking really nice. Hopefully she'll start showing preflowers within the next few days! Here's a closeup and a wide shot in case you forgot what my setup looks like in action :).

And check out what else came today! Now all I'm waiting for are seeds and my tent and I'll be able to get my second plant started. Hopefully they'll arrive within the next week or so.

What are your plans for the tent? Are you still gonna grow in the PC? Let me know what you think of the 150w HPS. I think I decided to pick up the 150W HPS that HTGsupply has.

I'd wait on that HPS order... all the research I've been doing in the week or so since I ordered mine leads me to believe that CMH would be a much better pickup if you're going for an HID. They've really been causing quite the stir lately. I'd at least look into them. I'll probably stick with my HPS for the time being (it was one of those /facepalm purchases when I realized what I should have gotten a few days ago); it's still a perfectly good light and I'm sure it'll produce some sick buds in my space, but ... The name of my thread is "YieldMax" after all :P.

Plans for the tent... I went over them a week or so ago in a post a while back, but the tl;dr version of it is I'll be using my PC for clones/veg (approx ~4 wk/plant), a second PC (haven't started building yet, but have all the equipment) for a couple small mother plants in soil, and the tent for flowering. The tent is less than 2 sq. ft. so I think it still constitutes a micro grow, but the real benefit is getting extra vertical room paired with extra room horizontally. I think I'll be able to do really well with nearly a foot more vertical growing space. Also, the tent will be better equipped to take care of any smell issues my computer might not be. My roommates were complaining a bit as my last grow was finishing up, so I'm doing everything I can to minimize.

interesting threadd...subd. I'm a boundry pusher my self. Lets see what you can do. 2 zones from that tent size is underkill. you should be able to pull a QP with that 150 hps. Now, 2 zips from a pc...that would be something to write home about. You got it mang.

Thanks for joining up! I'll check out your grows. Yup, my goal for this one is 2 zips out of the PC case. I'll be growing another LSD separately in the tent in the mean time -- it would be great if I could get 4 from that!

from my research, HPS will yield the most, CMH will have better quality but with minor loss in yield. and finally flouroscents will have the best quality and lowest yield. maybe you can add a CMH beside your HPS down the road and get the pros of both.
