To be honest. I don't know. I'm itching to start now. But at the same time. I want to finish up the paint job before I start. And I'm a little low on funds right now.

End of year bills and all.

You can get it perfect but it takes time. I replaced the film in my metal cab last spring with white paint. IMHO if you can paint...do it...if not film.
Spend your time and money improving other parts of your grow.
Totally agree. My metal cab is my first build and I know I'm going overkill. I'll learn from it and have a better understanding for the next one.

I'm subbed, looking forward to your grow OP!

I wanted to do a fridge and a wardrobe build too. My first box was barely 1sq ft by 2.6ft tall.

Now I'm in a 1.6 x 3 x 4.08ft area. Still working on getting things quiet though. I may need to put together another confine to achieve that though.

Remember fans don't cool anything. They mere move hot air around.

Heat will always go from high to cold areas.

I honestly think you will save yourself a lot of exasperation and disappointment if you just buy a tent and a suitable HID or CMH fixture.
Some ideas.
2x4 tent filled 100% with canopy. With 400W at 3 feet above the (2' thick) canopy will yield 1/2pound
4x4 With 600W, 1 pound
5x5 or4x6 with 1000W , 1.5pounds.

There is no magic to growing weed. If you can't house the canopy, you can't light it, you can't keep it at the right temp and humidity (hard to control microclimate in a box), you are setting yourself up for failure because you sure as fuck can't produce the yield. Watch craigslist, buy secondhand, be creative.

You could offer people a fraction of what they want, almost no hydro stores buy secondhand equipment (of which there are tonnes on the market as 90% of people fail and don't even try a second round).
Hydro stores charge big prices, as they sell hopes and dreams. You could offer someone $100 for a tent and they'd likely take it. Shit, I think someone on here bought one for $7 recently.

The reality is, most people fail (it cost them more to grow the weed than just buy it)

I got just shy of 4oz from my last run. That's not really great considering the 5 months of effort that went into it. But it's an assload better than the ounce and a bit I got from round two- with about the same time & effort put in.

I've considered getting a tent. But I dont like how obvious they look. That's kind of why I like the cabinet idea. If everything is hidden inside. And its not humming away at the time of a visit. No one thinks anything of it.

You think a whirring box with fans and funny smells coming out is less of a conversation piece?

Change the people you are around, if you don't grow weed, you don't get to visit me.

Hi everyone. I'm relatively new to growing. Haven't managed to grow anything successfully yet. It's between inexperience, bad weather. And two critters that like to munch on my garden. One of which is my dog... The other is fookin caterpillars.

Anyway... I've decided to go indoors for at least the medicinal part of the garden. I went and got a cabinet that's about 1.2 x 1.2 x 2.6 ft Or 36 x 36 x 80 cm (W,D,H). I'm going to try a decent soil mix. In an 11 liter bucket, that's about 24cm high.

I've chosen a seemingly decent looking GrowSmart: GS-135, 90w, full spectrum LED as my light of choice. Got that on special for $340 with controller. It's 7cm deep. And about 22 x 22cm wide.

I'm currently lacking in an extractor of any kind (I know I'll need one). And only have couple of bagseeds at my disposal. All of which came from some tasty smoke.

I've been looking into fimming and lst-ing as options for height control. And yeild boosting.

So. My questions are. If I had some decent beans to plant. What could I expect to yield from a cabinet this size, on average? What beans would you use in something this size? And does anything else need to be changed with this setup?

Cheers in advance.
one plant maybe an oz or more

Check the last page or two to see the upgrade box. It's got two more feet in width. And another half a foot in depth over the original model.

3.8 Oz from a 1.5 sq ft area. Probably would have been more. But, I thought I was going to be needing a new home in that last week or two. So I cut early.

I'd be cheering if I could double that weight with the new configuration. Depends how long it takes the new plants to fill the mesh as to how long I'll run them for this time.

I may stick with two pots. But then again. I might try the third. I'm still not sure.

very nice, esp for the led. if you do 3 itll fill it faster, might not get as much since theyd be smaller plants in general though, all depends i guess haha

From the one I've been running for two grows now. I'd estimate about 2 Oz (dry) per foot. Give or take a quart. She builds fairly dense, fruity, piney buds that stack for a good 10-13cm (so far observed).

I'm estimating about 6 oz from that config. Up to 8-9 (maybe). But that's probably over zealous optimism about my skills. And the abilities of my plants.

December 3rd... Paint is done. Mesh is slightly straighter now. And I have two buckets prepped and ready to roll. Cover/living mulch crops already sown.

Just need to soak some seeds. And off I go again. 20171203_210318.jpgThe paint used was Dulux Ceiling, Bathroom & Kitchen. Flat white antimicrobial, mold and mildew resistant.
Probably could have gotten away with a 1L tin. But opted for 2L. Heh. Just means I've got enough for another build.
