Young plants smell more than mature plant that has been flowering for 4 weeks.

Can anyone help to explain why my mature plant (Northern lights auto) barely has a smell but has small buds. The other 3 plants which are OG Kush auto and Candy Kush auto. Neither have started to flower but have a cannabis smell to them already?

This sounds like bull, but it's really not!

Grown outdoors btw. In the UK, so not always great weather

Genetics mostly. Some plants won't have much smell in full flower and some stink when they are babies.

Terpene production is highest in the wee hours just before dawn.

I had a Revolver Auto from Crop King Seeds that was a tiny plant but smelled like a dead skunk sitting under your chair the whole time it flowered. What a stinker. Lol.
