Beware of counterfeits! There is currently $147 million counterfeit cash circulating according to one source.
I have a couple simple suggestions you should probably follow.
If it says World Universal Bank Limited and has Asian symbols, you should decline it. These are circulating in Anchorage, this one from 2 days ago.
If they say 'for motion picture use only' or 'cinematic use only' you should decline them.
Unless you're in a movie. Which you'll likely be in if you try to pass one. People are being seriously charged for having possetion of large amounts of these, I shit you not.
Genuine currency is oriented the same, front to rear like the genuine note on top. The bottom one is a horrible fake.
My buddy confiscated a few of the off his kid when he was in HS 10 years ago. He was laying them along the sidewalk and laughing when people picked them up.
It was such an inspirational idea, I started photocopying the fronts of a bunch of fives spread out like a fan, cut off the excess paper around the bills and lay the paper on the floor at work. Guys up on huge mobile equipment would stop, climb down, pick it up and realize they've been had.
Don't get stuck with a counterfeit. Nobody will give you your money back.

When I find one like these, I wish upon the person who left it, a long life and that misery

I have currency from the UK and Mexico. Bills and coins. Nothing special just stuff that's been picked up.
Also have some mystery coins from Grandpa in the Korean War. His squad had some guys surrender and they POWed em. But it all came in a box he had it stored in since then. There's a really old intact flag, some maps and then the coins.
I took em to a guy who buys and sells coins. He researched and couldn't find them. Then talked about how they pretty much might have been tokens of some sort for "recreation" for soldiers for "all sorts of goods".
So until the point where I actually run into a situation where someone REALLY knows their stuff about Korea cash I'm in the dark about it. Or I take it to NK and ask Kim. That probably won't bode to well though considering how they were acquired. I don't want to go to the gulag.
There's also a part of me that REALLY secretly hopes they were whorehouse tokens and my Grandpa kept it a secret for all of these years. If that's the case then you go old man.

This is probably what you 'inherit' on those email scams.
I know a guy who sent money to Nigeria. His family got power of attorney over his assets after he told them he inherited millions and had to send a couple thousand for 'legal fees'.
