Your Weed Vs. Their Weed

Hello RIU. Just wanted to see if anyone else feels the same way. When ever I smoke my harvest with someone. They tell me it has a nice smell, taste, high, ect. But I don't feel the same way. Like sure, I get high and it smells good but I feel if someone grew that same strain , it would be better. Not better to everyone else, but to me. See what I'm getting at? Anyone else ever feel this way?

I hear that alot. lol I have that satisfaction of knowing this weed wouldn't be in this bowl at this moment if it wasn't for me. Thats always a good one. I also find I get higher if I don't think about it. lol Like if I'm expecting to get ripped, i don't. But if I kinda forget that I've smoked, I'll come to the relization of realy just how high I am. Same with the smell. It doesn't smell to great when I light up. But if I leave the room for a few minutes and come back in. It smells like Cheech and Chong were over for a visit. lol iDK...

I just recently started, it's realll nice

smoked my first harvest the other day, it definatly was an enjoyable experience, u get a type of satisfaction when smoke ur own weed, like i put the work in, now my hard work is paying back if u get what i mean. check my sig if u wnt i put a smoke report on it.

You can never beat your own, its been grown, dried in the way only you can do it.
Nobody can beat what you accomplish due to the fact that everyone has a different taste and style,
When you know what you want you sure as hell you get it to the T or Tri.
My mates like to give me nice organic tasting buds to try, i say that is what wet uncured S### is
like.
Some people call it hating i call it what it is,.to me.

Exactly - my mate comes up with some nice stuff as well. If you care for the plant, it'll care for you afterwards! (like my sig says - soo true...)

The satisfaction you get from your OWN stuff is really something though, ESPECIALLY your first go at growing having not been able to get smoke for a long time!

Based on some plant pictures people have posted here, there sure are sometimes when their herb will be inferior. Grow it the best you can, and improve where you can, and always research research research to ensure you're doing everything to the best benefit of the plant and you'll be rewarded time and time again with bountiful crops of excellent herb.

I think I get what the original OP was trying to say. I've gotten so used to my own that it no longer seems special to me. Maybe I take it for granted. When the rare occasion comes along that I do smoke with someone else and they break out their own stash it's usually introduced with the footnote of " it's not as good as what your used to, but it gets the job done." Then when we light it up I realize that this tastes like shit and has a really harsh buzz. That's when I remember that, Yes, I do have some great smoke. Or when I share my stash and the recipient leans back and says " fuck me, that's some good shit". It makes me proud all over again. A month or so ago I had a buddy hook me up with a few grams of whatever it was he usually gets just so I could get away from the same 3 strains I've been smoking on for the last 8 months. When I went back to my own brand I appreciated the hell out of it.
I took a lot of care in creating my smoke and sometimes you have to see how the other half live in order to see the value of your own efforts.

when it comes to growing... you get out of it what you put into it... some people use cheap ass fertilizer like miracle gro, and have no issues, but if you ever smoked weed like that, you can tell when you take that first puff.... I don't want to taste metal... i use worm castings and guano. Gives great results, and is lower maintenance.

i think i know what the op is getting at. i have never been disappointed in my own shit but it does seem like my friends are more impressed with it than i am. i think we are being too hard on ourselves. it's probably some kind of complex from being on riu all the time and seeing all these awesome grows.

i was gona say that same thing. i realized it was from checkin out all these pics of some of the best buds in the world, then i look at mine (all bagseed) and it just doesnt compare in my mind lol. but all my friends and family think its all bomb....most of them never finish the bowl or joint with me cuz they get too stoned lol.

and now that i found subcool's daily bud thread all my bud REALLY looks like shit lol.
