Zero Flowering

Hey all...I have posted here a week ago asking about my Hindu Kush plant. It wasn't flowering and I am still not seeing any movement in that direction.

The facts:

  • 22-24" tall.
  • Veg'd for 5-6 weeks
  • It's not been in the 12/12 stage for 16 days. Zero flowering as of now.
  • There are NO alternating nodes off the stem.
  • I am using a light with a color spectrum at 6500K. A new 2700K bulb is en route now.
  • There are NO light leaks at night.
  • I am using a pro-flowering nute.
  • All the leaves are healthy and the stem continues to branch out.
Now, for the last 4 days I have seen in multiple places, two little nodes/knots just outside the stipules. Sorta like on this picture (not my plant).

Is this the beginning of flowering? If so, why is it going SO SLOW?

What can I do to speed this up? Shut the lights off for 24 hours? I have read that supercropping might help too.

I'll take any tips anyone can provide to kick start this puppy.

is it autoflower? if it is, it doesn't care about light cycles. Hopefully it will be a girl :) I'm sure she will be up'n'running soon

there's really nothing you can actually do to speed up the plant.

well, I take that back.. you can try, and induce flowering by adding another hour to the "dark" cycle.

In other words, instead of doing 12/12.. try doing 11/13 instead. Having the correct spectrum of lighting also helps trigger the flowering hormones in the plant. But generally, the change of lighting cycles (when you go from veg to flowering).. the change in light cycles is what triggers the flowering hormones in the plant.

I've seen some Sativa strains take up to 3 weeks before it showed its first set of pistils. So just be patient buddy.. it'll eventually show its sex to ya.

Make sure your not stressing the plant too.. this can cause a delay in flowering/growing etc...

If you don't see any signs of sex after 4 to 5 weeks of 12/12 or 11/13; then its IMO that, your plant is retarded.

Hopefully one of my tips will help speed things up..

Good luck.

peace.

Alot of people think CFL growing is just plug in lights and change up light cycles, Not true. You need the right lights for the right stage. Blue-ish lights(6500K-5000K) are for vegatative stage. The Red/Orange-ish lights(2700K-3000K) are for flowering. The reason being i dont feel like typing(buzzkill). But just get the right bulbs for the right stage. Make sure you also give its nutes for flowering(not too much!). Anyways, other then that all you can do is wait. Hoped I Helped, +Rep.

Spectrum and nutes have nothing to do with actually triggering flowering. I agree he should try to use the correct spectrum and nutes but that isn't what's causing his problem.:weed:

So, it sounds like i can try a couple of things:

1. Got to complete darkness for 24 hours.
2. Once out of that period I can drop from 12/12 to 11/13.

I have a 2700K bulb on the way so I know that will help a bit.

What about supercropping? Has anyone tried that and is it even advisable?

you have to keep at 12/12 to start flowering... Unless this is a typo that is your problem.

wrong.

you can use whatever you want. You can do 12/12; 11/13; 10/14. I've only used the 10/14 once.. had good results with it. But I highly recommend using either 11/13 or 12/12.

Please don't give out information unless you know for sure its correct information. :)

I did give out the correct information. The person said they had NOT had it in 12/12, but it was a typo.
