got the jar at the THC convention this year in LA...I have two others, they are very expensive but they look so fancy and cool, makes me look all sophisticated with my buds in lil glass jars...haha

yeah its official, my journal sucks now. my two other giant durbans are looking like males, if I dont see hairs tomorrow they're gettin' yanked(im pretty much sure they are males, just in denial)
Its insane how dramatically smaller my lil garden has gotten now...2 monsters and 2 small ones...im sad. Im pretty unlucky...I grew like 5 durbans, and they were all male, and 3 of them took this long to show, I put them in big ass holes with expenisve ass FFOF, I put a shitload of effort and money into these big ass plants, now im killing them...ughhh it really is a shame, if they would of been females then I would be looking at like 5 more pounds, now my total yield will prolly be like 2-3 pounds...fuck! just venting right now..I feel like my journal aint shit now:wall:
anyways, I guess its a live and learn situation, and I learned not to put plants in the ground before they're sexed...shit I might not ever use normal seeds again, seems almost worth it to drop the extra $ for fem seeds, even if you might get a hermi in the batch lol anyways I'll finish out this journal, and im still pleased, I just feel like I put way too much effort into those damn males...I wont have any durban poison to smoke either! oh well I got some kick ass indicas still...
all ive been thinking about now is next year...next year i'll be back better than ever, my whole yard will be filled, next year im going for 16 monsters...and you all can hold me to it lol but for now...all I can do is learn from my mistakes and keep feeding my 4 girls I have left...plus it makes me happy to know that I grew them that healthy and big even though they were males, makes me more confident for next year...:peace:

That sucks Zig, but I'll enjoy watching your females finish up. I purchased my first seeds awhile back, and only got feminized. I'm willing to pay a few bucks extra on feminized seeds to greatly increase my odds of a female. Particularly when I only need to grow one plant at a time. Cheers.

yeah man it seems worth it...at first I thought I had about a 50% male/female ratio, but now im realizing, I did A LOT of killing...too many males!...the fact that I dont even have 6 females after all those seeds I started and all the plants I had is pathetic, anyways next year im gonna spend a lot of money and get all prepared before I plant....gonna get all fem seeds...

Zman. I feel your pain but I really dont know why those durbans didnt show gender until so late. I started 26 seeds. 6 didnt pop, 3 were mutant retards. About 50% of the remainder were male. In one batch of 6 there was one retard mutant, 4 males and 1 female. Another run of 3 seeds were all female. You never know what your gona get in that box of chocolates. We'll all still watch the rest to the end.

Yeah well this nonsense wont happen again lol im getting feminized seeds, fuck it lol and ill try clones...maybe they will work outdoors this time.

the other monsters are doing splendid...in full flower now :-P
and I have those two smaller purp bagseed plants, one of them couldnt be more healthy and is flowering fast! and the other is very sickly(yellow leaves/dark green, droopy leaves etc) but it should still produce....

Thanks Hodge, really appreciate those words of wisdom, your so right bro, and when I think about it this grow still turned out way better than expected...now i just cant wait for next year!

Foreal! fuck those durbans! I mean they grew fast and big, but how could I see that disaster with showing sex coming?? lol anyways thanks Purpkitty, and all you guys! I hope I didnt dissapoint...but I promise i'll be around on RIU for years to come :-P:peace:

right.... Im sure you can come up with your method between now and then factoring a few things you want to do different, and put it into play :)...... takes time.......

and not to sound pompous..... but FDD did recommend cloning for sex, as well as a few other well seasoned growers.....

yeah if i could go back I would have cloned them...but still it was an unusual situation...I didnt know it was going to be this hard for those durbans to sex...in the beginning of the grow, sexing plants was sooo black and white...I saw a male and I killed it, saw hairs leave it, but then these durbans came around and fucked with my head for a couple months lol anyways next year i'll have 3 scripts posted, so thats 18 mature...:hump:...already spoke with my brother and dad, and they are down to split the costs equally next year and make it a way bigger grow, instead of me doing everything myself lol and i'll need the extra help too cuz I thought managing a couple monster moms was difficult, next year should be a real challenge, im ready ;)
