Hello, I am reading as much as i can to start my grow, but I can't find any post about fertilizer.. can you share something?

I was wondering something for a long time. I know when using chemical fertilizers there are lots of salts involved. I know most of that salt builds up in the catch trays but I was wondering when growing organically do I still need to remove that runoff water from the bottom?
