Are cars like the Tesla Model S the future?

And here I thought this thread would have been of something worthy of debate, it was going well until your last sentence. What the fuck does President Obama have to do with cars like the Tesla? And it's future?

And you wonder why we make fun of you? You wonder why we stick to the same short answers? Why are you so racist?
If your BS isn't more reason this is politics. Thanks bro!

You are so very very wrong. Why do you people continue to bullshit when the facts are just a few google clicks away?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tesla_Motors Please read the History section. And where is says where the Department of Energy was involved, I want you to click the ATVM link... actually, no, let me paste it here for you.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_Technology_Vehicles_Manufacturing_Loan_Program This states the program was created in the fall of 2008, BEFORE Obama was president.

Whoops.
Whoops. Don't you just hate when FACTS get in the way of your bullshit?

You post up a Wiki link that actually supports Canna's comments, and you claim a victory!

Are you wearing Cheezy glasses?
Canna Rabbit claims that Tesla's are suckling off the government teet and it's somehow President Obama's fault.

I have showed you that Tesla is not in fact suckling off the government teet, was not started by the government and was not seeded initially by their money.

I have also showed that the program that did fund Tesla later in it's life was created in the fall of 2008, prior to President Obama's election.

You and Canna are not good at Faux Noise spin. Really not good at all. Maybe if you had blonde hair and big tits you may be able to convince somebody...

Whoops.

Our energy dept is the only reason Tesla exists, not companies like Tesla, but Tesla. All it took was a nice campaign donation.

Canna only said Obama was wasting billions on alternative energy projects, which he is, remember Solyndra?

Ginwilly is the one you quoted and gave the Wiki links to, which BTW supported his argument, not yours.

Damn dude, you are all over the place, smoke a frikin joint and calm down.

Why doesn't Obama instead fund Tesla to make a consumer rather than just luxury and sports cars? Tesla has a working product, improve it.

How can you waste money on the research and establishing alternative energy that could redirect our current path of total destruction...

Rich people buying it will improve it.

In my dads line of business we really only had one "new technology" product come on while I was involved. High definition television.

Remember how several years ago a new plasma tv was 8,000 dollars? They were even higher than that at one point, but there were no hd channels on cable or satellite.

Well, hd televisions hit the market, only the rich could afford them. A few years later, everyone could afford them. You can get a 50 inch led tv for 500 or less now.

Used ones at a pawn shop are even less.

It will work the same with those cars.

Think of it like this, rich folks beta test stuff for the rest of us.

Nobody loves their cars more than someone named Racerboy obviously ..
What we have now, internal combustion engines, such a joke, outdated technology it's not even funny... what is however funny, is thinking that an even older technology, electric motors, could some how be a step forward and an improvement..
Look at all the advancements in society in the time that the internal engine has been the.go to technology for transportation, and the lack of advancements in this single field that basically effects pretty much every person on this planet in one way or a other.. why has their been no changes? Ummm, maybe because big oil is a monster and people make crazy money pimping it out? Hmm, maybe ..
But, no, electric is sure as shit not the way forward , of course imvho, what is the answer? Wish I knew or iwoukdnt be some stoner on a pot forum that's for sure.. but no way in hell going backwards is the way forward that much is.clear..

How can current technology be outdated???

Just because something was invented long ago doesn't mean an updated version of the same product isn't cutting-edge.

4G/LTE cell phone towers are much better than the towers of the 80's.
Computers today are much better than Pentium II's and III's.

Also, as long as the energy residing in the batteries comes from a non-fossil fuel source, what's wrong with electric cars? The strides taken to reduce weight, and lengthen range have been quite revolutionary.

Look at Tesla's plan for fast recharge stations....

How is the electric .motor current technology? Yeah, it's not exactly.. I've looked up the date of the patent for an electric motor before and it's something like 1874, so yeah..
Maybe the storage batteries are new tech, but it's a joke and a slap in the face to real progress to the automobile ..
