Ok cool, are you saying I should put that in just as a precautionary step?
Wow thanks man that means a lot. I've probably put in a good 50 hours studying this site over the last month or so and I've read 3 books front to back, maybe that's giving me an advantage! Lol the only problem is I'm really starting to run out of room to get around inside the tent. I'd give it another week or 2 and I won't be able to stand in there. Maybe I'll have to get a bigger tent for next time.Very nice grow they should fill in that tent real nice with those big old pots.
looks super good I'm surprised it's you first grow.
As long as you're sucking air through the filter then you'll be fine. Basically you want to suck air through the filter, the cooling hood/light,through the fan and finally, outside. To me it looks like it's installed OK.Anybody out there??
So i went to the hydro store the other day and picked up a carbon filter, a hps bulb for when i flip to flower, and a water reservoir setup because I was getting tired of watering with a bunch of milk jugs!! I do have a couple questions though.
Is this how you correctly install a carbon filter? I have no experience with these..

It says its the best digital ballast bulb?? but I think I have a magnetic ballast that's kinda big and chunky.. Will this bulb work with my ballast?

I can still kinda smell dank when i go up next to the exhaust end point on the outside of the window. Is this because of the way its installed? or is there always gonna be somewhat of a smell? As long as you're sucking air through the filter then you'll be fine. Basically you want to suck air through the filter, the cooling hood/light,through the fan and finally, outside. To me it looks like it's installed OK.
As for the digital bulb in the magnetic ballast; you may have a problem there. Digital ballasts operate at a higher frequency of around 200hz, vs the 60hz of the magnetic ballast. The mismatch of the frequency may cause the bulb to burn out early or even explode. You should have an automatic fire extinguisher in the tent..just in case. I have 2 4x4X7 tents and each one has a fire extinguisher.
