Had a chance to blaze with a couple of regulars here last night. Mighty, mighty fine folks here in Michigan. That's all I gotta say. I'm glad I live here. I'd be happy to die here.

i betcha if ya looked into it michigan has a very high "Die here" ratio. like people who move away but come back here to die/be buried and then theres the people who travel everywhere and they when they get here they stay... just something about michigan thats so special. it gets lost a lot with all the static coming out of detroit, flint, and saginaw but the rest of the state has some real magic!

Great post! ^^^LIKE^^^^

Nicely put. For me the trigger went off when I saw the Sleeping Bear Dunes. For years I was drawn there in the summer. So fuck it I'm moving there. I can't fight the draw.

the draw really is powerful. i packed up most everything i own and headed west a few years back and lasted a matter of weeks before i was pining for my mitten. there is nothing else anywhere else in the world that MI doesn't have in spades. well besides jobs maybe but thats a story for another day. Il bet that a couple thousand years down the line michigan area is going to be a very popular area of the planet. i cant pretend to know whats going to happen, like the water becoming more valuable or whatever, but i am willing to wager that "The draw" if given enough time will win out. the beauty of our state is a constant reminder to the rest of the world just how good life really can get.

I agree that Michigan is great, but if you ever happen to get out to the mountains that's the next level of great imo. Western Canada is where I eventually want to settle down. The Canadian Rocky mtns, lakes, wildlife like you just don't see around these parts. It's really magical.

No doubt Canadian Rockies is the roof of the world. You want isolation man, that's it. Same with Alaska.

I like the access to infrastructure in northern LP. Traverse City has a lot going on, and easy to get to.

The temperate climate (6a and 6b) allow some fruits to do very well. Lake MI buffers the temp and keeps deep cold away, so some trees survive better.

I mentioned this on another thread, but when it comes to selling meds at a dispensary there is concern for chemicals added to the product. The Canna is harmless, the chems are not.

Farms have organic certification, which I think is largely horseshit, but there could be a voluntary standard that could be adopted and then you're Certified or whatever you want to call it.

There are lots of examples of this. Labs volunteer to follow a certain standard, and for that they are Accredited. Not a law, but a voluntary standard.

Amendments used are from this short list (doesn't have to be long)...

No pesticides are used because we use nematodes, BTI and such.

People buy with confidence because it's clean and green

Yes it is friend. I spent the majority of my life there. It's so much a part of me, no, I am a part of it, my physical appearance, my character, my soul and spirit... The things I do, how I think, the things I say. My emotions are like the winds on the mountains. Miss my old home. Glad I am where I am now though, even if I will always have ancient stone mountains inside, unseen in this rain forest and ocean landscape, I am home, but I am not of these folk.

A good read on returning our depleted minerals back to our soil, and helping our own well being at the same time. Two quick reads:

ONE

TWO

These are article excerpts from Dr. Maynard Murray on his research (and newly re-published) Sea Energy Agriculture.

I found these PDF's on Project Avalon Forum : thread Sea Water Based Organic Fertilizer

hmmm Nelson...

Now I have never been from this part of the main land, a little more east and on the other side of the mountains in the Banff/Canmore area was my home, I have been through Nelson a few times. My memory that sticks out most was with some friends. We where up from Creston, on our way to the Ainsworthhot springs, after a day of hard work. That day just happened to be the 20th of April. There was a rather large "pot - parade" for reasons I can't recall, the whole of the town seemed to be making its way through the main streets in a haze of smoke, music and bright colours. Not a police officer in sight.

It's a beautiful town. Nice lake side pubs. Lots of winter sports, and plenty of things to do in the summer as well. Fishing, kayaking, mountain biking, rock climbing. Very pot friendly. And as you have asked about it, I am sure it is very well known world wide to the pot culture scene.

I have to top one of my plants again today, after I have my coffee and finish this read. I'll jump on my bike and go down to the ocean pick me up some sea water in some jars. On my way back I'll stop and pick up some eggs from one of the many locals. She leaves an old refrigerator at the end of her drive way nearest the road. Inside is a few dozen eggs for sale by trust. I'll leave $4 for a dozen and mosey on back to wake up the misses with the smell of eggs and bacon. This is my morning here. I love this place.
