There is 1 x 600w and 3 x 400w, to get the most out of the 600w she's in the middle and it makes it awkward to distribute the light... anyway I think the GPW will be great on this one.

Hello everyone, my name is Green Santa.

I used to be Endur0xX but I put on a costume.

My perpetual grow will be shown here from now on.

All details about my setup can be found here https://www.rollitup.org/led-other-lighting/529386-fero-336x3w-more-perpetual-12-a.html

As most of you know, my main lights are FERO and AREA 51, I also have a few smaller units that I use for side lighting, not always on though, 2 kessil H350, 1 x 100watts Diamond Series.

Here is a few pics of the last couple months

I am currently vegging a few plants, but most of my work has been 12/12 from seed and I will continue to experiment with this growing style as soon as I am done with the plants that are being sexed right now.

This journal is meant to show what can be done with LEDs, I hope you stick around for more juicy fat frosty colas!

Happy Growing everyone,
Green Santa :eyesmoke:

What do you mean hijacking my thread I welcome everyone to post on my thread all they want as long as it's fairly related to the topic of growing dank !

Yes they are the old Area51, the very first model they came out with. The AF600s, I have 3 of them, 2 have more white the other one more red I think the growth is healthier under the ones with more white.

I am chopping the Pennywise#1 today, she has been fading for months now and she is not quite ready but ready enough, plus I can't wait to test her out!! I am seeing some amber but not a lot, everything is mostly cloudy.

I believe if grown properly she would yield nice colas, I don't know if I overwatered her early on or she simply didnt like the soil, I think it was like the 4th run for this container.

Thanks mate...

Im thinking about getting the A51 190 model but a little sketchy about the lack of red. I cant really do the apaches due to import tax and the A51 are at a good price point..

Thanks for the info...

What is your opnion on the all white for flowering... do you think some red needs to be in there

what do you mean a little sketchy about the lack of red? I just said that so far I am seeing better results under the lights WITH LESS REDS and more whites!!

I wasnt criticising.. Im new to LED technology and everything I have seen has a large amount of RED... I dont dispute your results but before throwing cash at a system for a long period of time I want to be sure..

Just like another poster said his XGS didnt do a 3x3 foot when it came to flower...

I didnt mean to offend..Im just stating my reservations at this point

Nice Penny pix! Do you know if it's a high CBD pheno...1:1?
You will have to stick around for a little while longer to know I have to wait for it to dry and for my new tool to get home. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Globe-Scientific-Pipette-Diamond-Fixed-Volume-1uL-2uL-5uL-10uL-or-15uL-/360471920849?var=630048471143

yeah no worries, I can't say for sure whether more white than red is better or not but I doubt A51 would have replaced the older spectrum if the newer one was inferior. As for the footprint it's debatable, in a perfect scenario with a perfect canopy you might get the advertised coverage but I gotta say under normal growing condition my AF600s fall a bit short of 4x4 as well.

Aussie????

would you think the A51 would do 3x3 with 3 plants.... I think A51 in the emails that I have received have been quite honest and I appreciate that in a company... there is so much BS with LED companies and that is where the disappointment arises...

First of all, the panels aren't square. I think Hans panels are. Both Area 51 and Hans are quality products. You can do a 2x3 18" away with the older 51s in flower mode. You could do a 3x3 if you supplement with some warm white household LEDs, floods, whatever. There's plenty of Area 51 grow journals. Captain Morgan's flowering with Cree thread will help too.

Im aware their panels (area 51) arent square I dont believe I ever said they were...however their website states it will cover 36'x 36' (a square area) hence my question... and the reason I ask is that another member on here said he had to add supplement lighting due to it not flowering well...while their website states it is right in the middle of where you want to be

Organic CBD rich Cannabis Infused Coconut Salve:

You will need:
CBD rich buds or trim
double boiler
70 grams beeswax
100ml organic extra virgin olive oil
250ml organic extra virgin coconut oil
Bodum (French Press) or any time of strainer
Essentials oils (optional)
Time 3-4 hours

Start off by melting the coconut oil in a double boiler

250 ml of organic coconut oil (it's not liquid at room temperature)
100ml organic olive oil

In the meantime, heat up the oven to 250 F and prep your dried material. (my trim wasnt fully dried)

I used about 4-5 grams of CBD Shark prime buds finely ground and all the trim from my Pennywise #1 (which will be tested within the next 2 weeks)
In the oven it goes for 15 minutes to decarboxylate

Add the now heated dried material to your coconut/olive oil and let it sit in the double boiler for 3+ hours(the water in the pot is set to be at an almost boil but not boiling)
Stir occasionally

I added 1 tablespoon of glycerin because I had it and figured it might help with the texture of the salve, my glycerin a pre made tincture high in THC ... probably gave the salve a little thc boost

I used a coffee bodum (french press) to separate the material from the oil.

Now is time to eat up 70grams of beeswax,(this might be hard to find depending where you live, you could always buy beeswax candles) mix in your cbd infused oil to your melted beeswax, stir well and remove from heat, you can now add essentials oils for
aroma, I used Lavender and Orange this time (if you add essential oils while it's on the heat, you will be wasting your essential oils, so it's the final step)

You are done, just wait for it to harden and enjoy!

Hi Green Santa. Would like to pick yor brains on something. How would you compare the way buds form under LEDs to the way they form under HIDs ? Ive grown for years using HIDs but this will be my first grow with LEDs. I notice with LED lighting the buds seem to start of small and dense compared to HIDs, but from other grows i have seen they dont stay small for long.

Cool vid GS. I wanted to ask you what the effects of your Penny are...mello, numbing, couchlock or just relaxed...thanks.
Pennywise buds are still drying RedCarpet, I will do a smoke report when I get to it!

Neat. What are the effects of the salve?
The salve is meant to treat skin disorder for now, I will test it with the Thin Layer Chromatography plates as soon as I do my next testing. I feel like I might be getting high when I use a fair bit of it, I am using on my feet to see if it will clear my feet of fungus.

If you use around 50 watts per sq.ft with LEDs, I am convinced you will get similar results that if you were to use 60watts per sq.ft. with HIDs. One thing I can say for sure is that LEDs tend to bring much nicer fall color towards the end of the cycle, regardless of the temps. My temps don't ever really drop, I use fresh air from upstairs in the house and about half my plants come out with a lot of purple/red at harvest. I will photoshoot a nice purple plant later today or tomorrow. Otherwise I think I am seeing higher resin production with LEDs overall and increased flavour, density has never been an issue for me with LEDs because I do use enough light, my friends usually comment on how hard and frosty my buds are compare to other growers around.

I am currently helping a friend and he is growing my cultivar SpacePussy under a few 400watts and a 600watts, it will be interesting to compare his final results to mine as I am also growing a few SpacePussy right now.

A key point to keep in mind with LEDs is canopy management, it's not in your best interest to grow Christmas tree shaped plants (and I love Christmas tree!!! joke lol) You want powerful lights at 20-24'' from overall canopy, with a nice 1 foot thick canopy. I sometimes get a leader that get closer to the light but on average, if I keep the lights closer than 20'', I am starting to see burned leaves or weird stuff, plus I get less coverage.

It really is strain dependant, keep in mind that a lot of LED growers are new growers as well, I am certain you could get buds just as big with LEDs. Most strains I am growing right now are not known to be heavy yielder, I am after quality... you can check out my old video I made over a year ago if you have not seen it, first part is close ups, second part is budshots and last part full plant shots, I grew a fair amount of big buds at the time.

There she is, SpaceChemo!! That one is going to be heavy! She could go longer, easily another week but I am fighting high humidity right now.
