Just a few updates...still no clear signs of gender, but today I did notice what looks like it may be a male sac forming

I'm going to reduce the lights on hours from 12 to 10.5 to increase the stimulation to show gender (thanks WattSaver for the tip)

image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgOkay y'all I'm doing some experimenting to see if I can go with less plants, vegged for 2 weeks vs rooted clones straight to 12/12. These plants we're vegged aero style for 13 days and lolly popped. This is My first time lolly popping. I'm trying to decrease or eliminate popcorn. These were 22 originally 6-8" rooted clones wich I vegged in my stinkbud cloner for 13 days with has image.jpg razy ass roots....I did a some reading on lolly popping and from what I read it's said to lolly pop in veg or before flower so that the plant can focus its energy on the upper part of the plant. I took off about 10-15 potential clones from lolly popping. Sad to say I couldn't keep them because I have no room for them.

Oh and I'm running house of garden nutes. I started (day 1 of flower)them at ph 6.1 ppm of 668.

I eliminated most of the Vermiculite, using almost stright cleaned Perlite. With GH Maxibloom you do not need to add the Cal/Mag. You do need to watch the pH. IMHO!

I done straight perlite, this grow was a going back to fundamentals, as for Cal-Mag, I must use it, no options with my water...as for pH, I use drops, good enough for me

Hey ISK,, Have you thought about using Silica instead of PH UP? I have been using Silica to raise my PH lately, not sure its doing them a world of good, but thought I would throw that one out there to see if others are using different alternatives to PH UP and PH DOWN.

Hey Rusty

I bought a liter of pH+ and only use 3 ml/gallon, so I recon it will last me for a few years

I feed with House & Garden nutes and their base nutes drop your ph. Their feed chart recommends bringing the ph up 5.8 before using their additives. Lately I have been using silica instead ph up.

Yea, when I use the Pure Blend Tea, it really drops the PH, but the HYDROPLEX in flowering really TANKS the PH, and I need to use quite bit per gallon to bring it back up, so I have been using the Dynagrow's Silica Blast to get me where I need to be.

I really pushed the girls PPM's this time around to 1050 ppm (.5) (1470 ppm on .7 factor) and they have been taking it nicely, not sure if the Silica is helping with that, but I am also seeing quite a bit of Stretch during flower. A couple of them just keep going and dont stop for over 3 weeks, really pushing my headroom all of a sudden.

I was given some nice sized samples of Silicate by Europonics I think. I've been using it in place of ph up when I mix a new batch. I don't use it when I top off my dwc buckets...of course my hempys get it with every watering. I haven't noticed stretching beyond that 21 - 28 day window. In fact, my Somango Widow is right in this window and seems to be slowing down on the stretch.

Thanks for the info Rusty. I did not know that silica pushed ph up. I used it one grow and adjusted my ph as usual (ph down to 6.0) but didn't check with the meter, because my tap water ph was consistent. My plants got thumped, I thought it was because I was adding to soil while I was in veg. So I just stopped using it. With new knowledge I think I'll give it a try again.

Yeah silica is usually in the form of potassium silicate which needs to be in basic solution in concentrated form. It needs to be added first then base nutes then additives then pH then any organics (they tend to get denatured by pH swings).

Dam stoneslacker you are once again killing it with the 250 watter scrog. Every time I see your scrog I get so tempted to do one...

Yea its good stuff! The Botanicare HYDROPLEX I use during flower really Tanks the PH, so the amount of Silicon I have to use goes up as I peak in my grow. I assume this is OK, but it does not seem to need over 5ml per gallon in order to get me back to 5.9. I am using the Dynagro Pro-Tekt Silicon, and have also used the Mad Farmer Silicon cause I got a sample.

Berry Bomb (DWC from Seed, Mother to clone):

I tried to mainline and I was a bit rough when I was tying down after the top, so that became the clone and I just let this one recover.

Kosher Tangie Hempy from Seed:

Trying to Mainline this lady. We will see how successful I am with this.
