Hi i am just curious. is there anyone that is legally blind that grows? is it hard for you? i have glaucoma & three other eye diseases which is causes me to lose my eye sight. i am legally blind right now, no not completely but then again 80% of all blind people still see a little. im just curious is there like special tools that are made for people with my conditions? the hardest thing is trying to figure out if they are males or females early so theres no chance to pollinate the females. any suggestions? or ideas?

I really wish I had something positive to tell you. I've worked with one good arm, that's pretty tough. The inability to see is something I couldn't imagine working around as the use of sight is so very critical for the performance of many daily tasks. Simply inspecting for general health, presence of pests, mold and mildew without sight would prove next to impossible. Inspection for males and even determining ripeness would be difficult at best. I suppose if one grew outdoors organically a harvest is possible however one can never guarantee anything.

Perhaps a good friend would assist you in your endeavor?

I've seen microscopes that attach to your phone right against the camera. Supposed to let you see what your scope sees on your phone screen. I don't know if they work, and I think they r for iphones.... Im sure a smart man could find a way to attach to a different phone or even a tablet. Non the less I think they are under 5 bucks on eBay. Best wishes, my brother has RP, I feel for you and wish I could help personally

I would like to hear how you deal with your issue. I am on my way to reduced vision in the way of cataracts and a Dendritic Ulcer in my left eye. I already have bi-focals but the light shining on my eyes causes clouding as in it looks like I am looking through glasses with Vaseline smeared on them.

yeah i have cataracts too, but they are really the least of my worries lol you may want to have them removed, its a very simple procedure, only reason i havent is because the glaucoma has already gotten so bad that my eye doctors didnt really see a point. but i will keep this updated, even if it will help just one person thats good enough for me!feel free to post what you experience also.... we can help each other bro! ... eye problems dont stop us from doing anything man ... i learned at the dept of the blind that blind people can do anything a sighted person can do. main reason i use this plant is because the eye drops they give me to control my glaucoma burns like someones holding a torch to my eyes, for like an hour or long.... and i have to do it 3 times a day 2 different kinds of eye drops .... this lovely plant here doesnt hurt at all. the itching is gone.... the feeling of pressure behind my eyes is gone and the watering is gone and they feel some what normal .... all while not forcing me to suffer through an hour of pain per drop .... the eye doctor asked me do my eyes hurt .... my responce was "mainly when i use those drops of lava you gave me to put in them" lol ....
