Start off of SOG Auto Purple Grow-- (Fresh Start)
If your cool and want to know exactly what I'm doing you can read all of this, I don't think it's that long but I know how people are on the forums haha. I'm almost starting from scratch so a lot of info.
My main goal is to have a perpetual cycle going of a small number of large plants, in large pots, with a long veg time. I will be working with AK48 mostly for my main goal. So while I'm waiting to find females/males, letting them veg, and training them, I will be doing a larger number of Auto plants in smaller pots. This way I can still get some kind of harvest before I put the AKs into flower.
So for this Auto grow I will be using seeds I got from an Auto Purple plant I grew a couple grows ago, then can be fem or herm, so I'll need to be watching them for male parts. I started germinating 12 of the AP seeds I have in tap water this been aerated a couple hours ago. Once they crack and have a small tap root coming out, I will put them in small 4" plastic pots filled with EWC, then put the pots under my 15 to 20w single bulb T5 lamp. I have found my stronger lamps don't work as well. They will say under these until they break soil and the colyteons are fully out.
Once the colyteons are comfortably out, and I begin to see the first set of single finger leaves pop out, they will be moved under the 600w HPS lamp. I plan on keeping it 2' away from the seedlings for the first week or two, then slowly bring to 12 to 18" away from them, depending on temperatures and what they can handle. I will also transplant them in that 1-2 week period into their final 2g Smart Pot homes. I might not have 12 so some might end up in 3g Smart Pots.
They will be put in my soil mix of old dead leaves from previous plants, mycros, some bat and seabird guano, some epsom salt, EWC, some of this special flower mix, and it's base is recycled and FFOF. I will also give them weekly or bi-weekly feedings of microbes and flower nutes teas, depending on their needs. I will use the occasional AN Bud Candy for extra carbs, and Flora Micro if needed, but besides that I stay away from bottled nutes and brew my on teas, and reuse/recycle my soils and just add amendments to try to stay organic as possible. Find it gives the best smoke.
That's pretty much it, then just let them ride until the trichs look around 50% amber, hairs are 90% receded and turn orange/red, and the bud just looks swelled and ripe. I won't be doing any training or topping, just letting them do their thing.
With these 12 Auto Purple plants, (AP plants), I'm hoping for 3/4 to 1 oz per plant, so .42 to .56 gpw. It's a 600w HPS and I'll be using a 2ft by 4ft space. We'll just have to wait a couple months and see. I think this strain finished between 60-65 days from seed for me.
Here are a couple pictures, nothing really going on obviously. First picture is just of the seedling area with my new crazy looking wood stand. Just found some scrap wood, made some measurements, and hammered four nails, works well for how it looks lol. The second picture is just of the seeds in their shot glasses, four in each. Put them in there at 4 p.m. today. Third picture is of me taking a dab out of one of my new oil rigs, because my other pictures are boring haha. Its has two honeycomb percs, 11" tall, very smooth. Oh and that is a Whiskey Sour in that last picture, still drinkin' of course, my RIU CREW!!
