I believe that would qualify as an open container violation.
When I lived in Louisiana some years back I was told by Terribonne parish LEO that a damn beer bottle cap constituted an open container.

I remember reading in the newspaper while down there that a dude picked up an "open container" citation for spitting his chaw into an empty beer can while driving.

if those cops wanted to be dicks, they could have arrested the kids with paraphernalia charges, and suspicion of possession of drugs, booked the kids, made them sit in a cell for a few hours, days, month, till they got bailed out, then only dropped the possession charges after the lab reports came back clean.. the para. charge would probably still stick though in lots of states.. i have heard of people getting arrested for para, charges for simply having a pack of rolling papers on them, no weed, just papers..

Normally, I do everything I can to avoid interaction with the corrupt gangsters with badges, aka police....
... but these kids were doing it for entertainment purposes to make a film.
No one would do that in a natural setting, I hope the folks who did this are being compensated somehow to make it worth it, or else they are boneheads.

Im generally a very peaceful person, but when it comes to police i really lose it. I once paid someone to sit outside a cafe at a police station and spot the cop who treated me like a piece of shit going out in his personal car. I cant remember how many times his tires go slashed in the middle of the night. I did see the copper later and he wasnt walking so tall anymore, felt good. I wish worse was done to those coppers, treating people that way.

When I encounter a law enforcement officer the one's that patrol our roads who's sole job is to enforce the traffic laws........I've always been respectfull and courteous yes sir, no sir you know the drill.....Two years ago this past Christmas while delivering papers on my very rural paper route I was pulled by a county sheriff who informed me that I failed to stop at a 4 way stop sign there is one that I go thru about five miles back.I asked Dudley Doright why it took him so long to pull me over he said he had been behind me for several miles with his lights off observing my driving or so he said.......after thinking I realized that I had slow rolled thru the 4 way stop. I generally take my medicine like a man but there was something about this dude that I just didn't like and I voiced my opinion about how sorry I thought he was he tells me that this was all about road safety and I quickly said it had nothing to do with safety it was all about money he remained polite but snotty as did I after several more verbal jabs at each other he gave me my ticket told me to have a nice evening...I said you do the same homes and left. I had been on that route for 17 months and had never seen a cop the next 6 months I was pulled 5 times by the county sheriff's and never given a ticket and some of the reasons were ridiculous I know it was retaliation for me being mouthy to the ticket writer one of the last times I was pulled over it was by two cars who tried to intimidate me but it just pissed me off I refused to give them my drivers License because the first cop that came to my window calls me by name so I knew he already knew who I was after several minutes I told them That I finally got what driving while black meant they all thought it was funny and chuckled amongst themselves and finally let me go........long story short don't fuck with the law they always win !
