Human being eat plant
all animal that human being eat, eats a plant
therefore,
life=plant
no plant=no life

seems pretty simple

the idea that climate change is a big mystery is disinformation
to not act is to gamble with billions of lives
Wall st did it with our $. In '08 it crashed.
Why should we let private interests gamble with our lives?

That's my whole point. I'm not trying to "win" anything. I live my life to the best of my abilities and I am happy. I'm not kicking and screaming.

People will die. If I'm one of them, so be it. I can deal with that. It's a shame you're so scared that you can't lead a happy life. I feel sorry for those around you. :(
That's an incredibly selfish mindset to have. You're basically saying your life and happiness are more important than the lives and happiness of future generations of people.

Not only selfish, but very stupid, especially since it's completely preventable and all it takes is a little goddamn effort in learning on your part.

OK, man created global warming.

Now what?

All I have to do is accept your science and it will all go away? Riiiight.

I'm not selfish, I'm just not scared.

Selfish is living in a third world nation and having 12 babies when you can't even feed yourself. I think that's a much bigger problem than losing your summer vacation home on the Jersey Shore because a little hurricane knocked it off it's foundation. Which was planted in the tidal sand.

Deal with some real world issues that are happening today, before you create some new ones that won't exist until only god knows when. If they even happen at all. Go feed a homeless man for fucks sake. Unless you're too selfish to. ;)

You don't have to do shit, like I said, science will progress with or without your ass, get on the bus or go under it, either way is fine with science

I'm not selfish, I'm just not scared.
Yeah you are. Why would you be scared of something you think won't affect you, you selfish fuck?

Yet you're probably "pro-life", aren't you?

You think one person having more babies than they can afford is a worse problem than mass starvation, international displacement, droves of refugees, economic disaster, and warfare? I bet you've given that a lot of thought :wall:

Reversing anthropogenic climate change is very much a real world issue, you vapid sack of meat.

I've made sandwiches for the homeless, I've even given homeless people weed before, what the fuck have you ever done for the homeless except deprive them of a meal?

The anger in this one is strong. :o:razz:
Why shouldn't someone be angry about their fellow citizens being wilfully taken advantage of to promote their own political and financial gains? Or about those same people effectively dumbing down the public education system to further advance those same goals? Why shouldn't someone be angry about their fellow citizens supporting a system of government control in one breath while simultaneously opposing that same exact system the next?

If you're not angry, you're not paying attention. You're a lemming who should just go back to sleep anyway. At least there you're out of the way of actual progress.

You said before you don't have anything to win. That's bullshit, and here's why; if you weren't in it to win, you wouldn't argue character like you did with this bullshit post. You would argue the facts, you would make any attempt at all to educate yourself about the issue before exposing yourself as clueless.

Read a book, take a class, learn how science actually works and argue that. Turn off your TV and stop listening to people who have a vested financial interest in making sure you don't know or understand these things

So because I don't buy into your paranoia hype you feel I'm clueless?

You have yet to give even 1 way to help change the way things are progressing. Instead you've spent all your energy stomping your feet trying to get others to agree with you.

Tell me, oh educated one, how can I help stop global climate change?

of course, you have no citation for any of this and we are just expected to take your word for it.

i'll pass.
That's fine. I know what that late 90's issue says, and what happened. The best indicator of the future is the past. I've no doubt that the earth will continue to change. I've also no doubt that the lab coats don't know as much as they think they do and it's not going to be as dramatic as they say.

Don't take my word for it, just keep an eye open for hard copy scientific literature from a couple decades ago.

Scientific literature from several decades ago was convinced there was a looming ice age.

Sure, we've improved computing power since then, but the human element is the same, and just as prone to error.

You got nothing.

You'd rather be right than help. And you call me selfish.

Typical.
What the fuck do you expect?

You're not a scientist, you don't hold an advanced degree, you barely understand how science works as far as I can tell

Do you want me to tell you to stop driving your car or some shit like that? I don't think you should stop driving your car.

I honestly think the best way for someone like you or me to affect anthropogenic climate change is to educate ourselves and the people around us about what it is and how it works. The main reason progress in any scientific field is stifled is because of public disinterest or public ignorance. Consider NASA, a time tested scientific endeavour with measured success and hundreds if not thousands of scientific applications because of it, yet people still bitch about "wasting money on NASA when there are "real problems" to solve..."...

Educate yourself

Your entire point is "they made faulty predictions in the 90's, so that means climate change is bullshit", and yet multiple predictions before and since then have come out accurate

As usual, you don't understand how science works

What you fail to consider is the ecosystem of the planet. Humans will adapt, the plants, you know, our main food source and the main source of food to the meat we eat, won't. What do you think will happen when the environment creates longer droughts, stronger hurricanes and floods, shorter growing seasons and unstable conditions to grow food? There will be food shortages, and if you know anything about history, resource shortages always lead to a fight over control of those resources.

It's a lot more than "adapt, deal with it". That's why people like you aren't in charge of making decisions, that's why climate science continues to progress and advance, and why, despite your best efforts, in the end, you will lose. You'll kick and scream the entire way there, but it's inevitable. There's not a subject in history that such a vast majority of scientists were in complete agreement about.

Deal with that :bigjoint:

Meanwhile... Heritage Valley retard think he gots a point becuz ya know.. hurricanes and stuff..

Comedy gold!
People like you aren't making decisions either.

The scientists aren't making decisions.

Despite all the grave warnings about the falling sky, we've done nothing to very little in this country, nor have they in Europe much, to greatly reduce carbon emissions.

China is pumping out more and more, and the third world is starting to get into high gear.

So this "my side is winning" bravado you're thumping your chest about is asinine. Your side is just kicking and screaming, and not getting anything accomplished in the process.

You've made poor people sandwiches, so fucking what?

You've given homeless people weed, great, just what we need, more homelessness people doing drugs, unable to pass pre employment drug screenings.

You're a sad fucking joke.

I understand how it works. It is great about some things. They don't have all the pieces to this puzzle. Their a step up from the farmers almanac. Not the definitive infallible authority.

Meanwhile, 97% of publishing climate scientists in the entire fucking world are laughing in your face

Every single international science academy, world-fucking-wide accepts ACC

Yeah, it's safe to say my side is winning.

If this was boxing, this would be the match up;

v.

Me You

That's metaphorically an exact representation of the strength of each argument, yet you dummies keep putting money down on "the blue eyed killer" because his marketing team spent hundreds of millions lying about his record. The scientific community is trying to tell you there's no way this kid has 47 1st round knockouts while his agent and coaches are telling you he murdered 13 guys before they ever hit the mat and he's torn guys arms off and all this other shit you seem to fall for hook, line and sinker... As an unbiased spectator, I'll admit, I enjoy watching such destruction inside the ring, but at a certain point it's just sad.. Especially when your wife and family doesn't have any food to eat for the month because you bet this months wages on blue eyes...

My side? Wow how little you pay attention.

I believe acc. I just think there is nothing that can be done to stop it.

Say the US and Europe both cut carbon emissions by 80%, China and India aren't going to. Africa and south America are still going to keep increasing their emissions.

Meanwhile our economies suffer for our decision to try to save the planet.

Meanwhile, if "our sides" scientists are right, we've already passed the point of no return on ocean rise. Even if the world stopped carbon emissions by 90%, tomorrow. And we both know that isn't going to happen.

I've just embraced our fate, and don't think it will be as bad as they say, because so far nothing has been as bad as they've said it was going to be.

Here is a tip; they've not solved all the riddles of how the Earth and it's atmosphere works.

Then like Bill Nye and the clip in the OP with the Heritage Foundation retard, you and I simply disagree on the facts. You believe your bullshit that goes against what 97% of leading climate scientists believe.

And you're joined by Sheskunk in that your defeatist attitude towards any valid scientific solutions encompass everything selfish about being a human being. Too stupid to know how, too arrogant to know why.

Yes, I read his post

The scientific consensus is not "well I guess we can't do anything about it.. so fuck it.."

What's where we disagree

I believe we can do something about it, and it's supremely selfish not to act now

You idiots say "well it doesn't affect me now" and fail to understand the implications of a process that takes longer than you can view in your lifetime. The same reason people like you don't accept the theory of evolution. Basically taking the "I can't see it, I don't believe it!" approach.. Beautiful! Did you ever see that alphabet be created? No? Well then shut the fuck up because you can't speak to me right now in English.

The USA has been doing "something about it" before you were born.
The earth fixes itself in ways not yet proven by science for millions of years.

I would agree we are making the atmosphere work harder by pumping exhaust gasses into the air.

Like BB agrees, it's going to take a long time for the world to adopt new energy.

There are just too many jobs that depend on oil based energy to cut.
The world economy would be destroyed if we all changed over to 'green power' today.
