Wait, so before the laws it was not immoral to kill or steal? Really? Cuz that is what you are saying.
I bet you had a very difficult time learning and comprehending in school

you said this

Sorry London, but morality cannot be legislated, those things still happen everyday, the civil rights act stopped nothing.
I tell you laws come from our morals, and you think it means that before laws it was not immoral. How slow are you?? It was has/was and always will be immoral to steal and kill , so we made a laws against it. How difficult for you to understand that. Wait you did eat paint off the wall as a child. Lead paint makes you dumb.

Legislation based on morality does not equal morality based on legislation.
Dude you're only confusing yourself...

We make a law based on not stealing..A parent then teaches a child that it is against the law to steal. The child grows up knowing it is against the law to steal. Morals based on legislation.

You usually at least try not to sound like Nodrama. What happen today?

Lol, one of those days I guess.

Riddle me this though batman. Are you claiming it took laws to realize stealing and murder is morally wrong?

My stance is the laws follow societal morality, you are claiming morality follows laws. You're reasoning would mean we all sit around waiting for the gov to decide right or wrong for us.

You are found guilty of worshipping at the alter of gubmint. I'll wait for the laws to tell me if it's ok or not.

do you have to work to be this stupid? or does it come naturally?

the other alternative is that you knew you were lying and lied anyway, can't really decide when it comes to you. you are a pretty underhanded and despicable pile of humanity.

Never said that. Told Nodrama the same thing.
The statement was made that "You can’t legislate morality"

I merely pointed out we take a moral rule and make it against the law to break it...which shows you can legislate morals.

Morality can be legislated. It's been done for thousands of years.
It does require a level of consensus. I think we all know this.

Did you hear a teacher got fired for breaking up a fight?
i heard the teacher got fried. i got all hungry and whatnot.

I think it shows that societal morality dictate laws. It appears to me that are stating the opposite.

Nodrama is correct in that you can't legislate morality but there is a caveat. If your society is so week minded that right and wrong only exist based on what gov says instead of society.,,. Like progressives;)

Again. What you are referring to as a societal consensus dictating laws based on morality is NOT laws dictating morality. It's societal morality dictating laws. That's what nodrama and I are saying.

I concede that some laws are made by nuts in power in an effort to dictate morality, but those laws are foolhardy. Oral sex being outlawed is an example of an attempt to legislate morality.

Can you cite an example of morality being changed by laws?

It's like you are almost there. Laws brought on by societal morals are not always your own, but does the law actually change your morals or just your behavior. Every example you and kill have given are laws shaped by societal morality.

Please provide a few examples of laws that actually changed society's morality.

We can name laws that attempted like our blue laws, but afaik, it didn't work.

do you even bother reading what london says, or do you just want to keep trying to paint your retarded stereotypes regardless of what he actually says?

A society's laws are built around their religious values. In Christian countries of origin, that would be the Ten Commandments. Jewish testaments. They are good laws to live by and must be honored for the sake of civility.

Break the laws, and you need to be punished by having your pee pee whacked at least 10 times with a willow branch. :)
