I have a noob question. Does weed have a smell to it?
I only ask because I just popped a seed and turned on the light in my hps suitcase grow and before I go away for two weeks I want to know if putting some cotton balls in front of my PC fan will stop the smell of the seedling getting to my DEA agent flatmate. Seriously does weed have an aroma?

Yes it does, and why the fuck would grow in the same flat as a DEA agent ???

you could learn how to grow without smell, but not in this short a time, If I was you I'd cull it

lol really?? good luck with your suitcase im sure you will yield to the max shouldn't smell any worse than youre ass after a week without a shower no need for a filter

I'd be interested in reading about that set up.

I've seen a few threads where a bunch of dudes ran different bulb sets for veg and flower, all in an attempt to make the most out of the PAR values of the bulbs. I have considered this approach myself due to heat issues in the summer time, and due to the fact that plants seem to absolutely LOVE my 2 ft 4 bulb T5 lamp I use for veggin'.

How's the heat with a rig like that? Can't be worse than HID's is it?

1000 watts of heat is 1000 watts of heat, it is spread out more with the T5's but I have the same temps that I had with my 2 CMH's (800 watts)

I went with the GE 4100K bulbs because they peak in both the red & blue leaning just a tad toward red

I like your name FlyLo247 ... But growing weed with a DEA flatmate is NOT by any means flying low. One last thing, whoever told you the cottonball thing near your PC fan to remove smell; remove them from your list of people to go to for advice.

;) i just couldn't let the cottonball thing slide ... Maybe the cottonball thing would work if he soaked them in witch hazel. lol

Everyone talks about air flow, getting airflow for lower leaves, fans down low, fans up high, ... Yet I do not see any fans in your growroom. Thoughts on fans and air flow?

A gentle breeze is needed and is important, you can't see my fan because it is 12 feet away from the grow space, it blows across the whole area and draws air from the basement doorway. Other than that I have 2 6 inch 12 volt (puter) fans mounted on the plant stand that circulate CO2 into the canopy. CO2 is heavier than O2 and falls to the floor these fans insure that it is where it is needed for the plants to use itS_SAM_0821.JPG
