nice progress so far man im gonna sub i would love to see what led can do they get so much crap and all anyone ever says is that the yield is much lower....cant wait to see what you end up with
 
Got my 1st of 2 new LEDs in the mail today! First impressions are amazing! Great packaging, incredible build quality, 3 yr warranty, and the spectrum looks a lot more red than my precious so it will be good now that I'm in flowering! I'm expecting the other one on Monday.

I have the same led as the one on the left but it's a 900w actual(450w). To answer your question it does not get very hot. I can put the light a few inches from the canopy without any problems
 
Thanks everybody, and yes just like JCWA said, these things don't get hot at all. I could zip up my tent completely with both of them with NO EXHAUST or intake. And it will only get 82 degrees in there.

Also I have a quick question for you LED users out there. One of those is a 5 watt, and the other is a 3 watt. My 5 watt LED does not appear to have as bright diodes as my 3 watt. Is this because the distance between the lights is greater with the 5? The ones in the 3 watt are so close together it just seems a lot brighter.

Also the one on the right I can tell is very specific for flowering plants the spectrum is focused on red while the other has a lot more white and blues. They make a very good combination covering like all spectrums!
 
They look good man! but I can't keep them that low with my temp issues I don't like my tent going over 80. so I raised it plus it's only like 10 inches from the canopy
 
Plants are looking great, dude. We have some bubba-k crosses under LED as well. Can you provide a link for those panels?
 
My temps are usually in the mid-low 80s at the canopy it's a 110 outside. I use to keep my light higher to keep temps down but after I lowered the light my temps went up by 2 but my plants are growing way faster. U obviously know what your doing and I'm not saying your way is wrong. I'm just telling my anecdotal results.

that's awesome man my ventilation must not be up to par with yours if I got mine that close temps would easily get up to 85. makes me think about buying a bigger intake fan ;)
 
plants are looking good! Im jealous you will have so much room for those 2 plants. I have 4 under my Mars1200 in a 4x4 and they were competing for space. I tried to keep the light about 16" above the plants so I can get decent coverage. The 1200 isnt quite big enough to do a 4x4 unless you keep them up high. My flower tent I have a 900 and have had plants grow up and touch the bottom of the light without issues. Keep up the good work!
 
Patch, I had heat issues for a long time, intake is not the answer, exhaust is almost always.

I read a very good line from someone who used to drive refrigerator trucks "you don't make cool, you get rid of heat" or something along those lines. I know when I read that I had a little epiphany, put my most powerful fan as the exhaust as it was originally my intake and it's changed my grow temps by nearly 5-7 degrees Celsius
 
Even though my BML Spydr 600 is passively cooled, it benefits from having a house fan blow across it

House fans throw a lot more air than tiny computer fans

getting the heat away from the heatsinks also improves PAR

I use a 14" fan aimed half way between the back of the light bars and the canopy

Double dipping for the win
