that is not how it all works.

mcdonalds has two classes of people eating their food. Those who have an affinity for it and those who use price as their primary motivation

given that, mcdonalds will always charge what the market will bear. Anyore and they will lose market share, and profit. Any less and they will leave money on the table.

if they pass a new minimum wage on, unless all others do they will lose market share. They are already charging as much as they are able.

All the others will too. Thy have the same increase in production costs as McD's. Or they can lower the quality of the product to reduce costs. Or keep fewer employees. Either way, your dollar will be spent more on labor and less on food. Other sources, such as eating at home, will become more prevalent. I suspect "marginal" stores will close, leaving less competition and fewer choices for the consumer and fewer employment opportunities for those on the bottom.

Any item that is produced by humans including commodities SHOULD see reducing prices, but the monetary system makes that nearly impossible by introducing inflation into the system. Inflation is really good for the State and really bad for the citizens. It may seem like your home rising in price is good for you
