Some good information here. As for lawyers I have 4 that I am helping with out with there apps. The only people HC hates more that applicants is Lawyers, lol.
Everyone thinks they have this figured out. Truth is HC does not even have it figured out so no one else has a clue. All we can do is keep beefing up the applications and keep answering questions. HC is just getting started on everyone, guys you have not seen anything yet compared to what's coming just as you get close to the finish. HC has some show stoppers they have reserved for you, and your just going to shake your head and say why not tell us this at the start so we don't waste our time? HC is kind of like the I Robot movie you have to ask the right question, the right way, and maney times. Keep going stay strong and have plan B.
Just so you know a LTB is not worth the paper it's written on, even if you have it you can still me told "NO" after you have built it out. HC will not tell you that you move forward at your risk. HC can stop anyone with just one word and they is no one who can stop them.
By the way all the early applicants are being re-visited because of all the changes and decisions HC is making on the fly. So back last summer when we put our first app in we sent HC a canoe (Coles Notes version) today we submit the largest cruse ship in the world (Allure of the Seas) to Health Canada on behalf of our clients. It has everything in it.
All this goes back to HC doing the least they can to inform applicants, and this is by design. good example is saying you need GPP, what the fuck is that? It was developed for feed lots and is meant to make you think it's not a big deal. Well now everyone is finding out it is a BIG DEAL. But what HC is not telling you is it's really GMP they want, but if you knew that your application would be 1,500+ pages as you would know what they want. HC is dicking everyone around, I have told everyone this from the start. Us GMP and you will be fine.

Since when does medicine come from a fucking feedlot? And I am not a cow! I don't get why it would be covered under anything to do with manufacturing. By very definition, it is wrong to categorize growing something with manufacturing. Kind of oxymoronic. Now if you want to take something out of the plant and say manufacture thc lotion for example, well that makes sense now, eh?

Thanks for the post George! The part that most concerns me is where you say the LTB is not worth the paper it is written on. Are you aware of people receiving LTB's, completing the construction, having their final inspection and not getting approved? If HC is issuing LTB's on bad faith, or while withholding vital information, they are going to have a wave of lawsuits on their hands if multiple companies are spending big bucks to build, only to be eventually denied for no good reason.

There are Good Agricultural Practices developed specifically for medicinal plants. I think this is a better starting point. The regulations in place for other medicinal plants are pretty similar, so if you familiarize yourself with them you are in pretty good shape. In fact, much of the MMPR has been pretty much copied from existing regulations. Most of the QA requirements are common for all other medicinal plants, although I imagine there will be stricter enforcement for marihuana.

All Health Canada reasons are good reasons, it's just getting HC to tell you what they are. Just about impossible! HC has changed the wording on the letter to allow them to cancel you at any time or stage if they feel you pose a risk/safety issue. Just what are these issues well that's what we want to find out. Things are still moving at HC but what you sent last month is no longer good enough because things have changed. Now most of this is for the better because now we know we need to use GMP and some other regulations to meet the requirements and now we need SOP's too. That's because of the recalls and that means HC will go back and have further looks at all applications in the system. So if you have everything in your app you will get to the front faster, I see this in the apps that I handle, some numbers are in-front of lower numbers because we better understand what HC wants. Get all your SOP's, PMP and working hours for your QA done you will need them soon.

The irony is that small producers, or wannabes, are losing out at the benefit of large corporate interests. You claim to be against people "controlling" the plant, yet us failing only means it is controlled by even fewer people, if you consider corporations people in the first place. You would rather the Tweeds of the world control the supply rather than having many smaller producers around?
Of course, people have been (and are) making money of this plant since money was invented, so I dont really get why you have so much sand in your vagina in the first place. This is simply a shift away from the black market and a step toward legalization. I think most people here support people having the right to grow your own (I do anyway), but we dont write the law. Ss with most crops, the majority of people elect to purchase, what's wrong with us wanting to grow it professionally?
