Probablly the most up to date thread going on here. :p

Like what you got going on here. Is that chicken wire you are using on your SCRoG?
as far as the screen no its not chicken wire its actually a plastic coated metal fencing. its much more rigid and has rectangular shaped holes, which i think give u a littler more freedom than squares. seems to work great! 4' wide but i had to buy a 50'ft roll of it lol so lots of extra. think it was only like 25 bucks tho.
what do u have going on? u a fellow SCROGer?

Sweet man, welcome! love to brainstorm with you. any ideas to help my two little girls?
Really...I'm a chic! It really bothers me to be called man or dude ;)
I personally would stop flushing them...how much water can their little root systems take? I would also suggest getting them in a good organic soil...
Your grow looks pretty nice from what I've had a chance to peek at :)

oh my apologies, i have a habit of saying man to everybody, man or not, my boyfriend hates it when i call him dude lol.
and yes i will stop all the watering until they dry out and see what happens. they are in some good organic soil. i switched from using pro mix a few months ago and have been really happy im glad i gave this stuff a go it seems worth it

Aha! That's why everything looks so good! You're female! Yes, when it comes to gardening I'm a bit sexist- I think women grow prettier plants than men. No idea why, but I come by my opinion honestly, after having seen many many gardens tended by both sexes.

I think your babies are in good hands and will come through nicely.

To reduce tip burn, raise relative humidity.

I ScrOG, only I do it vertically. If you're looking for big yield per watt numbers, I'd look into it;

and yes id love to learn more about the vertical gardening i must admit im a bit ignorant on the subject. id love to give it a go but i decided to take up SCROG due to height limitation in my current garden :-(
If you can grow pole beans, you can grow pot vertically. Just for openers, it turns out the stuff kinda likes growing up in the first place, so tying it down is already less natural an approach.

Any media will work.

Hang the bulb vertically in the middle of your space and put the mesh around it, at the same distance from the bulb as the distance from your ScrOG canopy.

I use a round wire trellis and grow the plant up the OUTSIDE of it, letting only the growing tips through. When those tips get long, I fish them back through the mesh, lay them out along it and vine clip them in place. The next day, the plant's own phototropic response will have aligned it to the light.

It sounds like a lot of fun! i wish i had the space to do it! I will before long, thats a requirement of any new home i move into is tall ceilings. how long do u veg your plants for? mine i vegged 9 weeks or so i think it was. and what kind of G/watt do u get when averaged out? my previous grows using 1000w HPS (not on movers like i have now) always averaged out to about 40OZ per 1000. 1.2-1.3 G/watt neighborhood, sometimes getting a bit less that 1 G/watt (usually in the summer months) and up to 1.5 in the winter. im really hoping i can reach 1.8 G/watt using a screen and a light mover in order to make the extra hassle worth it. i know i wont come near that on my very first SCROG you see here but hopefully seems maybe 20oz or so might be the upper end of what i get this go. the next gen ill b happy if i could do around 28oz, although 32 is the goal i set for myself. then the generation after that, will be the very first winter time SCROG, which is where i am hoping i can max out this technique and see what is really possible with my setup, my ability and a lot of advice from you guys (and girls!). i am really VERY excited about that :-) not only about having a larger harvest; but about it being way more easy for me to bring out some real nice coloration at the end. by then (fingers crossed) i should have me a really good OG18 X Purplewreck pheno isolated

Hey hi Folks.. I posted this in Vertical grow... but I also need help about scrogging, so hopefull someone has some ideas... sorry.. N00b here...

Here's the problem. This is my first grow and I have have made some interesting mistakes.

First mistake.. I didn't know how big these plants could get. I pretty much thought they would be like 3 feet tall, and I might get maybe an ounce off each plant.

Next mistake... grew them from seeds on a T5. Was told not to raise the light until the plants got close to touching it. The light light was 8 inches when they started growing and I have not moved until two days ago. I moved it up 24 inches and the plants grew 9 inches in TWO DAYS.... oh holy mother of god.. now I am scared. They are truly growing like weeds. I dont have the flowering room ready!

Third mistake.. I can only grow twelve plants at a time. So, I decided to grow 12 seeds. (idiot.. idiot.. idiot)

I've attached a couple of photos from what I am doing. I am right in the middle of changing this room into a flowering room. Right now I have the lights on Veg, with a T5 light.

Fourth mistake ... read lots of posts about scrogging and so I decided to go that way. I figured I could control the growth. So I developed two different types of scrog screens. Four that are flat and 8 that are vertical. The first four go together. The other 8 will go around the first four. I'll hang a grow light in the center. My thinking is that the grow lights are always around a center, so why not make the floor area a grow space as well.

After I built the scrog screens and see how big the plants will be, I am stunned.

Here is my problem question... will plants that are around and under a light grow better if the light is vertical, or if the light is hanging normally? I have a tube light that can be used either way.

I've put in a photo of the room that I am currently building. My plan is to have the four flat scrogs will go in the white tray, its a 4x4 foot tray, the other eight, on 2x4 foot frames will be vertical around it. Light will hang in center. Do I hang the 1000 watt light vertical or horizontal? I also have a 4 foot light track. I am not confined to keeping plants in the tray, just the ones with the flat scrogs. I'm working in 5 gallon air pots (god those are expensive), and when I started growing, I thought that 12 plants in 5 gallon pots would fit under a light for a 4 x 4 space. It's taken until the plants got bigger than I realized what an idiot I am. Can a total novice do this?

Will this set up get enough lights to the plants that are vertical and are about 3 feet from the 1000watt light?

They are 36 days old from seed. The strains are LSD, THC Pro, Pineapple Chunk, Juicy Fruity Chronic, Cotton Candy, Candy Kush and Strawberry Blu Diesel. I have looped them every other day checking for bugs. PH is kept at 6.2, running 1200 PPM using xtream nutes. (which I do not like).

Am I off base? Will this work? Any advice would be much appreciated... I think the plants are close to being ready to switch into flowering?... I dont even know that... *sigh*.

I love my garden.. I love my garden... lol... omg.. I love it and it drives me happily crazy for a first grow.. :)
