i run it because it came with the house. it's a great cooling system.
A swamp cooler is the worst cooling system for a house unless you want everything damp. They dont work in the humidity and only the older poorer houses in phoenix have them at all. Why not just hang damp rags on the fans in your place and really save some money???? LOL!

We just hit the monsoon season and trust me, humidity sucks!!

house is at about 30% humidity right now, a little low actually. 35-50% is optimal.

i should probably buy a humidifier, it'll come in handy for the one week out of every month when i'm drying the harvest.

as a supposed "home inspector" (LOL) you should probably know this.

I had a house fail a home inspection because of low humidity. It was the first thing on the checklist, above everything else that a home inspection is about.. yanno.. structural, mechanical and electrical condition of the property. Humidity is what they are REALLY looking for.
LMFAO

BTW, I was making fun of buck, not houses.

It sounds cheap until you take into account that it can take less than 10 minutes to clean a pool. On average it takes less than 20 minutes to do it. A good pool guy can make $60 + per hour on the service side and much more on the repair side. I dont service people as I stated above. Dont pick up UB's bad habits.
OK, I sorry. You just hear about so many bored housewives and the pool boy, I couldn't resist.

i see the racist righties are not big fans of cost efficient cooling.

i left the door open for the dogs when i went out and played golf. just left the swamp cooler running.

For a guy who supposedly made hundreds of thousands of dollars in the past few years you live like you are one step away from living in your car...

Swamp coolers are great if you are in the right climate for it. I ripped mine down when I re-roofed the house. Just wasn't worth the trouble when it was only useful for a month out of the year. The hard water here wrecks the pads and pumps, and a 15 degree drop in temp doesn't mean much when it's 110+ outside.

The fact that you are even defending yourself over your swamp cooler says it all.
