It has always been the political rulers using religion as a means of oppression. And fear of the ignorant grasping at religion and making others suffer in its name.
As soon as the west went secular and realized thunder wasn't God being angry, the inquisition and burning stopped.

Estimates are that 15% to 25% of muslims side with the violent jihadists, so your statement that "most muslims" are not violent is correct.
However, let me do the simple math for you: There are 1.8 billion muslims on the planet. If 15% are radicalized and support violence then there are (.15*1.8x10^9) radicalized, violent muslims.... and the answer is: 270 million of them. That is nearly the equivalent of the population of the United States, and that assumes the low end of the estimate.
The conclusion I reach from your comment is that you and Buck and the other musselman apologists here are either stupid, dishonest, or really just want to bring down the west and particularly the US.
