Quick question

This is my first post so I want to start off by saying great site! I've learned so much from the past 2 months. This is my first grow and I'm using a rubbermaid grow box setup. I actually have 2 of them but I want to only use one. It's 2 45 gal tubs stacked on each other with up to 12 CFLs but I'm only using 6 right now. My question is can I flower 6 plants at once in this set up? It has room to flower 3 but I'm thinking why not just leave the lights on 24 hrs a day and rotate in two sets of three? 3 under the light from 1-12 then I take those 3 out and put them in a dark room then throw the other set of 3 in from 12-1. Would this be ideal for simultaneously flowering 6 plants? Thanks.

.......you could do it but i wouldnt expect much yield in the end if i were you cuz 12 cfls with 6 plants would mean 2 cfls a plant ur lookin at getting about an 8th a plant prolly not even that since u have more then a few plants i would suggest getting atleast a 250 watt hps light and ull def. be more satisfied with ur end result so yes the cfls will work and ull get a little something but no if ur looking to get some yield out of them ladies you want more lights always member if theres one thing u dont wana be a cheapo on when growing marijuana its def. lights lights lights always more the lights the better the yield gooood luck dude hope all works out

I think you're mistaken.. I've seen plenty of threads of people getting an oz or more per plant with this set up. Also, maybe you're misunderstanding my question. ohhhhhhhhhhhhh ok that should be fine there shouldnt be no reason that shouldnt work as long as the plants are put in the same temp. as the room they came out of and they dont get stressed or go into shock they should be fine my bad i thought u were askin about lighting opps haha and i dunno about that ounce a plant u can ask ne expert and they will tell u that with that many plants and that less of lights i highly doubt an ounce a plant just trying to give it to ya straight and not just trying to tell ya what ya wana hear

this only sounds like a good idea... the reality sucks.

i thought the same thing with my micro grow at first... and then the reality hit as i tried it... first off, you cant instantly move your plants so each day the time to change them changes by at least a minute. then there comes the time when you are really late getting to them for some reason or another.

the next problem is you are trying to move your plants as fast as possible so that you dont lose too much time in the transfer and this leads to accidents. i dropped one of my plants doing this little dance. it recovered fine but it could have been ugly and certainly soured my day.

then comes the hermies from not having a steady light schedule. that first crop 3 out of 4 plants went hermie. since then i have had 1 hermie and have grown a couple dozen plants. light issues seem to cause more hermies than anything else.

nice theory but the reality proves it wrong quickly.

you are far better off setting up a second Rubber Made bin if you want to double your crop.

One of my bins has caused a power outage twice so i've had some fluctuations with light. Hopefully they wont hermie.

Thanks for your response bfq. Wow, even light fluctuations as little as minutes can hermie your crop? This theory seemed so doable that I'm almost ready to try it on a few anyway.. One of my bins has caused a power outage twice so i've had some fluctuations with light. Hopefully they wont hermie.

it was weeks and weeks of daily light fluctuations. i doubt seriously a couple times will cause issues.
