They have done so in the past. Bought someones invention that would vastly improved fuel mileage, only to disappear in the oil or auto manufacturers archives, never to be seen again, along with the patent.I know there are stories like that out there.
Some guy invents something and it makes cars get hundreds of miles to the gallon or things like you just mentioned.
It would be a revolution in the energy world.
It would also make billions or trillions for the companies that develop it and takes it to market.
I would think Exxon would offer the guy a fortune for his invention or research instead of killing him and risking BP or another eventually found it.
I think the reality is those things don't exist.
The documentary who killed the electric car raised a lot of questions. They have done so in the past. Bought someones invention that would vastly improved fuel mileage, only to disappear in the oil or auto manufacturers archives, never to be seen again, along with the patent.
It is about oil, notice that Obama did nothing until the Kurd oil fields were under duress, then its all " we gotta help these people by dropping bombs on them!" Then it was SOP, drop bombs and kill people, all the while commenting about how the USA is sending in Humanitarian aid.its cute that you guys think its still about oil
Nikola Tesla was the most intelligent person on earth, He invented the Radio, LASERS, RADAR, AC Electricity, Generators, Robotics, Remote Control and numerous other devices, but his invention that he was most proud of was a "Dark Energy" device that provided limitless free power to anyone who wanted to harness it. After that JP Morgan defunded him, destroyed all of his equipment and experiments and black listed him. After which Tesla became penniless and broken.I think the reality is those things don't exist.
So lets say you make 95% of all your money from the sale of oil for energy, now someone invents something that makes oil useless as an energy source. How will you stay in business?I know there are stories like that out there.

Its funny how SmokeyDan has repeatedly been shown to be wrong about everything (the electric motors having no torque thing being the latest in his fail cascade) yet he still makes strong, definitive statements and says other people are wrong.Nikola Tesla was the most intelligent person on earth, He invented the Radio, LASERS, RADAR, AC Electricity, Generators, Robotics, Remote Control and numerous other devices, but his invention that he was most proud of was a "Dark Energy" device that provided limitless free power to anyone who wanted to harness it. Read more about Tesla, the guy that Einstein considered the most intelligent person who ever lived.

He makes a good point though, the batteries suck. Its funny how SmokeyDan has repeatedly been shown to be wrong about everything (the electric motors having no torque thing being the latest in his fail cascade) yet he still makes strong, definitive statements and says other people are wrong.
I think he should stick to discussions about where in the Happy Meal box to put the fries.
Actually the FBI didn't do that until Tesla died. But yeah, HAARP is based on Tesla designs.Actually after Morgan defunded him the FBI rocked up and confiscated all of his plans, designs etc on the basis of national security.
Military applications particularly weapons development trump consumer applications every time.
Anyone with a smart phone knows current battery tech sucks balls. He makes a good point though, the batteries suck.
lol...Anyone with a smart phone knows current battery tech sucks balls.
Doesn't take a genius.
My experience with electric motors is limited to consumer goods. Its funny how SmokeyDan has repeatedly been shown to be wrong about everything (the electric motors having no torque thing being the latest in his fail cascade) yet he still makes strong, definitive statements and says other people are wrong.

You try to buy their technology and buy their cooperation in not developing it.So lets say you make 95% of all your money from the sale of oil for energy, now someone invents something that makes oil useless as an energy source. How will you stay in business?
You try to buy their technology and buy their cooperation in not developing it.
But, if someone figures out a thing, it is only a matter of time until someone else figures it out also.
A smart company would buy that guy out and develop his technology in an effort to corner the market and instead of being one of several huge energy companies, you would secure your future as the only energy company.
Even if we got out of the energy need with respect for oil, there would still be plenty of uses for it. The value of a barrel would go down.
The energy companies could adapt and develop this new product.
The real group that stands to lose the most is OPEC. Saudi Arabia has nothing to offer the world outside of oil and jihad.
The problem is that if you figured out how to power the entire planet for free... you would NOT want "some megacorporation" monopolizing and controlling that, and charging the populace for something they could actually have for free. This is precisely why people get disappeared and have convenient "accidents."
Let's go with "free as in freedom."Nothing is ever free. There would still be maintenance and distribution costs.
Let's go with "free as in freedom."
Buy once, self-maintain, free from the grip of $300+/month electric bill. (you could optionally pay someone to maintain whatever device for you, but you would "own" your own power... which they're now trying to criminalize!)
