Right.

If there's a flavor in the name, then the breeder, imo, is selling expectations. People I've gifted the disappointing [ to me ] Blood Orange to, get plenty stoned, But I'd have kept some had it actually been an orange smoke - the name and description being what induced the purchase. Should have had one orange out of 4 fems at least. Thinking of calling this last one Bloody Nose.

Gotta say, the fatty Marty Grape Stomper fits the name sake. Total grape smell, in flower and after harvest.

Bloody Nose?
 
I was going to list my freebies as my last resort seeds, but as I went through my collection, I found another bag labeled "found'em". I had forgotten about this little bag for years, I use to stuff every seed that I found into that sack, to use one day when I could grow my own. That was before I moved to Cali in 2008, became a medicinal patient, and gained access to better genetics. So my last resort seeds are a small, mixed, collection of found beans, that I've had for about 15 years.
 
Ill add strains ive ran and wouldnt again
cotton candy from delicious seeds was vigorous but shit weed
Jack33 from ch9 maybe I fucked it up but most finicky plant I've ever grown
Dutch dragon forgot the breeder was trash
Strawberry cough forgot breeder
K train, superbud from ghs slh and lemon skunk their only good strains
Chronic from bulldog seeds don't ask
Grapefruit dinafem bunk
Cheese forgot breeder maybe dinafem too
Now that I wrote it all down most of these were freebies or strains I didn't pick... Ive gotten pretty good at picking strains
I used to run two 5x5 closet and two 2x2 tents and for like two yrs I just tried as many strains as I could sog with mulitple strains at once... Didn't find alot of keepers bc I used mostly single seeds but that's the way I find the flavors I like then pop a few packs of whichever interested me

That's very similar to my approach. I don't pheno hunt. I grow...I smoke. I used to run as much variety as possible [singles], but like you, I've learned my preferences and dislikes well enough because of running singles.
 
I've ran singles before. And still occasionally do I'd I need filler. Won't be doing that now as I have many other beans I'd like to run (Next up to pop Pagoda, Ancient OG, and lucky charms f2).

I think singles can give you an idea of a strain but you could be lucky or unlucky, finding an outlier in either direction which isn't a necessarily good representation of the strain itself.
 
Yeah exactly I haven't been doing that lately.. It also gets crazy controlling a canopy of 20 different little strains... I used to have alot more space.. But my idea was that I would just grow some from every breeder maybe and search for my favorites and then only grow those strains...
It never worked out like that. I grow for personal and like variety too much...
 
DNA.. Hashplant HAZE.. was probably one of the best plants ive ever popped from seed.. a single seed at that.. honestly. the only reason I don't have it anymore is because the fact I mislabeled an entire DOME.. and couldn't figure out which was which without flowering them out.. and I had males in the same dome.. and lost my list of wat was in there.. and I tossed everything in the trash .. because of it ..

but. I have some seeds I made from it .

get some painters tape

Where might one pick up some of those? The painters tape is okay for things that people don't see but I like to keep my jars labeled and I could use something like that. :D thanks for the great idea dude.
 
Got em at target in the back to school stuff, they are on a roll like tape type deal.
