Only use Blackstrap molasses. If you don't find it in the baking isle it may be in with the health food or organic products. Unsulphured Blackstrap is what you want. Grandma's, Table, Fancy molasses are all sulfured I believe.So can you just use any molasses or does it have to be specifically for plants?

To add a bit, I have used sulphured molasses, it didn't kill my plants. But it doesn't have nearly the minerals that the Blackstrap has. Sulfered is pretty much devoid of the "good stuff" except for like 2% Calcium and 4% iron or something like that. While blackstrap has a much better list of awesome stuff You'll see when you compare the two at the grocers.
