I'll admit I haven't read this entire thread, but I've read most of it, and I've seen quite a few people say that they know someone who smoked while pregnant (or THEY smoked while pregnant) and had perfectly healthy babies.

Has anyone been able to bring up an example of a baby who was messed up because of marijuana? I mean, all this argument over doctors and studies and whether we should believe them....well...ignoring all that, if we KNOW women have smoked while pregnant and had babies who were perfectly normal, isn't that proof that it isn't harmful? Misshestermoffitt even posted pics of her pot baby.

Now, I'm not saying that just because these women have positive stories they should just be accepted as the rule. I'd be more than willing to take negative stories into consideration....as soon as I hear one. If someone already posted one, I must have missed it in my skimming and I'm sorry.

I do agree with Garry, that if you don't know, it would be better to error on the side of caution, especially where your child is concerned. If I didn't PERSONALLY know anyone who'd done it, I probably wouldn't do it either. I don't think stories from strangers on a forum would be enough proof for me.

i'm more than willing to take negative stories into consideration also... but none of us potheads seem to have had a "pot baby"; but like you agreeing w/Garry; we do err to caution... she has only smoke twice during this pregnancy; not much either time, and for naseua... but she doesnt take the promethizine either... because we are cautious

Just wait gogrow, he'll be stealing your plants in no time!
ironically, he respects my plants (when i had some:cry:)... he rips up any plants i let him near.... yet he has gotten into the growroom twice while i was water/feeding and both times i come in the room to see him leaning with one hand against the wall... then looked at me smiling and pointed to the plants and said "plant, dad plant?"... he knows that they are different :blsmoke:; also knows he's not supposed to be anywhere near them..

No but what scares me is that is plenty of proof that doctor prescribed drugs can really screw up a baby. Pot threatens the pharmacy industry. How can they make money pushing their drugs if people can grow their own at home? That threatens their bank accounts. Why can't anyone see that?

Case and point pot baby's friend, spent is young life doped up on pills for ADD. He didn't like the pills, his mom didn't like those pills. He got into HS, learned to smoke pot, ditched the pills. Feels and acts much better now. Mom is happier (she knows what's going on, he is 20 now), boy is happier, he was super skinny from the pills and has put on enough weight to look normal, not sickly. I'm guessing the people who are not happy in this scenario would be the drug companies, the pharmacies and the doctors. They are the ones who lost the money. Damn there goes their new car !!!

A 100% no from me.
I don't think the results of marijuana on a growing fetus have been studdied enough to determine whether or not it's a good or bad thing.

I'll put it this way.
Do you want to gamble your babies future on getting a little high?
He/she will have to live his/her life for a good 70-80 years however they come out of the womb. Be that with downs, or just dyslexia.

9 months without pot or 80 years with dyslexia (Or any birth defect).

Downs is caused by having an extra chromosome which would be genetics, pot would have nothing to do with that. See people come up with the most unfounded arguments on this subject........

My non pot baby was premie and was in the hospital for 2 1/2 weeks.

My pot baby was born right on time, had no problems and at the age of 20 years now is just fine.

I guess there is something to be said for not puking and being able to eat during pregnancy..........

My mum used to smoke Le ganja while pregnant with me, and I'm fine.

A bit on the deranged side..

Other than having a ridiculous imagination.. I'm fine. :D

I was just using examples of birth defects.
And you using anecdotal evidence is as bad as my "unfounded arguments"..
I'm just saying that maybe 9 months of not smoking is a worthy sacrifice for piece of mind.
Whatever effect it has on the baby, it will have that effect for life.

Just chill.
i mean, you know sperm is produced 30ish days before it's ready?

So whatever was in the dudes system 30 days will be in the sperm he is jizzin out.

I'm not saying weed has a bad effect or anything, it'll just leave traces of it in his primordial junk.

I don't know where i'm going with this, i just found it useful/amusing information. :)
