Hey anyone what is the closest your plants could stand to be to the rw150s during mid to late flowering? I'm at about 20" now.

I recently had a plant shoot off unexpectedly and the top six buds were only ~6in away with no ill effects. I definitely wouldn't recommend that though...I keep mine only like 12-14 inches away. I may be a little close but I don't need the extra coverage right now

Mine are about 12 inches from tops on my 4 week old budding girl and about 8in from the top of another that is about 2 weeks flowering. But I have 2x rw75 spread out across 32x32 foot print so that may be why I see not ill effects.

Most of my plants have touched the lights with no ill affect. The distance from the light has to do with optimal focus. Think magnifying glass and the sun. As you move the lens up and down (toward and away from the sun) the light becomes scattered, focused, and then scattered; the sweet spot of focused light is a small area of the overall movement of the lens.
There is a lens on the A51. My experience has been that my plants do not burn or anything when they get really close or even touching the light; the energy is scattered due to the focal point of the lens. That part of the plant is not in the "sweet spot". I adjust the height of my A51 lights so that the "sweet spot" is aligned with the majority mass of the plants. My experience with my lights is between 6 and 12 inches for the sweet spot on the SGS-160. The XGS-190 is between 8 and 16 inches, and the RW-75 is 6 and 12 inches.

I determine that by looking at the voracity of the growth along the entire height of the plant and these #s are what my lights show me for the plants I have growing right now IN FLOWER.

When I first started growing indoors with hydroponics I set the light(s) at the distance from the plant that I thought it should be, then let the plant tell me what it wanted. I do that same thing today, watch your plants and adjust accordingly. Plants (any type) are all fickle and want different shit all the time, each strain of cannabis will want something different...go with the flow and relax.

Hey everyone, thinned out my tent today. The two alien bubba's in there were male so I put them outside to finish. What's left is top left, liberty haze. To the right LSD and both front quin n tonic cbd. The little one in the middle is a alien bubba. They're in second week of flower.

I was looking at sincitys website and saw that one of the few dispensarys that sell their gear in socal is only a few miles away. I'm leaning towards picking some up so I called them and they said they had blue power. They had a fair number of other ones. It's either that or drive further to get tga timewreck I've been wanting. Sincity sure looks good, sinmints maybe, still undecided. Anyways here's my grow and have a great weekend everyone.

I just compared the output lumens between a new Area 51 W100 and a two year old BlackStar 270 Chrome. The Area 51 W100 gives a slightly higher reading even though it pull 45 watts less. That's according to the Dr. Meter Digital Lux Meter that Amazon sells. I'm pleased other than the weird slight tick tick sound one of the fan motors puts off. Thinking about getting a couple more. Maybe one or two of those RW75's to mix the spectrum a little.

White nightmare wasn't on their menu today but when I called they had blue power in stock which also wasn't on the menu. They wouldn't answer very many questions so I'll head over there next week to see what they got. One of those two will be my first choice.

I ordered a W100 which is 100 watts of white LED at 5 watts each diode. I will use this in a 2x2x5' tent with 2, 55 watt fluoros pll in the corners vertical style if needed.

Anyone have one of these and care to share their experiences? I guess I got the last one.

I am hoping the more white light 3750k spectrum will mimic the sun a little better than blues and reds, as I want to grow some sativas and get the closest to sunlight for them. Indicas can do with less intense light and limited spectrum imo.
