this is the most common thing i hear, ppl thinking they can save money with 220v over 110v.spent an hour trying to explain watt / volt = amps, not watts / volts = $. Depends on ur breaker box and what all ur running when deciding if cost of setup is worth it. Does ur house run mainly elec appliances? whats ur total amps coming into ur box? how many slot do u have left? many thing to think about. Will not save watts by going 240v.
Lol, my buddies were freaking out while i wired my circuits into a live main panel. I don't recommend it to someone who doesn't know what they are doing. I've been bit by 110 more times than i can count, been knocked down by 240 and 277 at work and was knocked out by lightning that struck a building about 20' from me. Electricity doesn't scare me, but I do have a great respect for it. I always feel "energized" after I get a decent shock and the feeling lasts for a good day or so .. I know I'm weird.Call an electrician or turn your panel off!!!!!!

I'm all for hiring a contractor, if you live in a legal grow state. But if your like me and looking for as much STEALTH as possible. I would recommend watching some YouTube videos on sub panel wiring.. I had zero electrical experience.. And after watching 2 or 3 videos I felt comfortable enough to do it my self.. And it saved me about 500$Does it matter? How much wud it cost 2 hire an electrician to install a 240 volt outlet if it does matter?
