Will not save watts by going 240v.
this is the most common thing i hear, ppl thinking they can save money with 220v over 110v.spent an hour trying to explain watt / volt = amps, not watts / volts = $. Depends on ur breaker box and what all ur running when deciding if cost of setup is worth it. Does ur house run mainly elec appliances? whats ur total amps coming into ur box? how many slot do u have left? many thing to think about.

Depend on how much load your pulling. 1 1000W light pulls appx 10A on a 110V circuit, which means 1 light per 15A circuit. Same light pulls appx 5A @240V, so 5 lights on a 30A circuit. If your only running one light 110 is fine, once you start running multiple lights I personally think 240V is worth considering. Won't save you any $$ just eases the load on your electrical.

same cost to run, 240 is easier on equipment because is uses all the power therefore runs cooler
110 uses a lot of resistance and sends unused power to ground.

240 volt 20 amp, u have 10 amps on each hot, 120 volt 20 amp you have 20 amps on 1 wire. Less heat per wire, less chance of burning or melting insulation etc, less resistance = less loss of power. Call an electrician or turn your panel off!!!!!!

Lol, my buddies were freaking out while i wired my circuits into a live main panel. I don't recommend it to someone who doesn't know what they are doing. I've been bit by 110 more times than i can count, been knocked down by 240 and 277 at work and was knocked out by lightning that struck a building about 20' from me. Electricity doesn't scare me, but I do have a great respect for it. I always feel "energized" after I get a decent shock and the feeling lasts for a good day or so .. I know I'm weird.

Not weird at all, saves time in most cases on the job. Best way to test live wires is the back of your fingers. :)

I'm all for hiring a contractor, if you live in a legal grow state. But if your like me and looking for as much STEALTH as possible. I would recommend watching some YouTube videos on sub panel wiring.. I had zero electrical experience.. And after watching 2 or 3 videos I felt comfortable enough to do it my self.. And it saved me about 500$
