Try to envision a stronger economic system.

Humanity is growing so quickly that it creates the illusion that we are thriving, but humanity is not thriving it is being divided by capitalism; strictly my opinion. Marxism has revealed it's many flaws in attempting to form that vision, but I can still see the need of stronger unions and more regulated pay scales. Can anyone envision a better system than capitalism, or is it simply the natural way of survival of the fittest? Do you think another great depression and even world war would be necessary to allow the new system to overtake a government?

we already did..the great recession of 2007 and most of the world is participating in war.

that of which you speak; no longer works and is not a solution..the whole war effort of no "nylons" and "riveter rosie" has come to pass you will never see the likes of that again.

How would we manage a colony on Mars? I don't perceive calling Roto-Rooter for servicing a plugged toilet is going to work. Is capitalism going to become an offshoot in such a situation? What would be the numeraire or basis of currency?

Capitalism is not the problem. Governments borrowing beyond their means, printing money and devaluating the dollar and other currencies as the EU will begin doing in March is causing the loss of buying power and economic hardships.

Capitalism means that there is private ownership over labor and the means of manufacturing. Any other derivative is a re-distribution of wealth from one group to another.

Put more simply, you get to keep the benefits of your labor or you have to give some or all of those benefits away.

There are limited resources on the planet, ownership of them is the only thing in dispute.

the dollar is stronger you stooge, and every benefit has its cost. no one makes money in a vacuum, they make it using the infrastructure that incidentally costs money to build and maintain.

like any moocher, you just want the benefits without any of the costs.

A Martian colony will start with war. Either against the green men or the first Nation to claim and defend against intrusion.

Army ants and Bees have figured it out without man`s help. Maybe take a lesson from nature.
Don't want to be a worker bee. I want to collect the nectar and be free!

Always a good idea to learn from nature though. My dog comes in the house minutes before a storm hits every time. Sometimes I think she is wrong, then the clouds open.

Really? The termite wars, ant colony invasions and all the other stuff I saw on nature shows with ants battling each other to death?? What have they figured out again?

I like the ant colony ones in africa where the ants just start marching and destroying everything in their path... Vegetable, animal, doesnt matter...

Harmonious living with nature is cool like that... Until it eats you...

How did you derive that ? Draw that conclusion ? WTF ???
You figure ants and bees have it figured out because they live in houses made of their own spit? Because they have no individuality and only act as a collective?

I am puzzled why my comments are the first ones to be considered bizzare.

If Ants and Bees had it all figured out they would be at the top of the food chain and should have colonies on other planets by now given that they dont have social issues right?

Living in a hive doesn't sound like much fun.

I think the best economic system is one where the involved parties set the rules of a given interaction, NOT some external entity.

Sort of like the weed thing. Smoke it or don't. It should be up to you, not some external entity.
