Should you Facebook old lovers?

i used facebook to find the girl who i lost my virginity to. just wanted to see if she was still hot or not.

i completely forgot her name, but i was looking through my old journal and found it. which then led me to my yearbook, where i narrowed it down to one of three alicias. then, i went on facebook and searched for all three of them, finding the correct alicia.

she is now kinda ugly. not totally ugly, but pretty homely.

that was enough for me.

Past lovers may have been a best friend at one time. As long as you two look at the big picture and respect everyone involved, then what's the problem.

Life is short, I'll never turn my back on anyone unless there is a real reason to do so. Can't imagine catering to a spouses possible insecurity. I must be trusted to do the right thing, and ignoring another caring human isn't the answer.

The title says it all. I just heard from a old love, and it made me smile, but my wife unhappy. Simply old friend shit (40 years), nothing like about the times down by the first bar we could get into, or the drive in, or the, the, well you get my point (we were 17) where we made passionate love in my spacious VW in 1972.

I had the square back in 76 with 2 of future wifes friends sleeping in the front seats and we were laying in back doing our thing...we were bunnies back then.

The very same thing has just happened to me, he was an old boyfriend who actually asked me to marry him, he then married my friend and that didn't work so he got divorced. I haven't seen him for 39 years until facebook! he is now re married and living abroad, we had quite an intimate conversation when we first spoke through facebook, he told me he married second best the first time it should have been me, I was flattered and quite emotional but I couldn't have told my husband he would not have understood even though he lives very far away and has just re married. His sons are friends with my sons and we have both looked at each others family pictures on facebook, it was nice to hear from him and to be friends again, but we could never be anything more, that time has gone and its nice to remember the times we were together but my husband would not appreciate me talking about the past with him he has a very jealous streak I'm afraid so what he doesn't know won't hurt him.

If can be difficult with a significant other, however that being said this happened in 1972, i see now reason for two adults with a past history to connect with eachother, however consulting your current significant other listening to their concerns and speaking your mind on how it is, that you have no feelings for said person, and are simply just connecting to an old friend.

I'm not sure if she would understand this friend request. Well, we will find out soon enough, because she always checks my Facebook page, so, I will soon see what my wife thinks about the friend request. Her father hated me, sent her to school in FL to finish her senior year in HS to keep her away from me.
I lived on the wrong side of the tracks, so to speak, and we never saw each other again. Sad, isn't it.
