Running an oxygen pot system, with only two pots and a 25 gallon res. the res will be filled with 10 gallons, and am using either Aquaflakes, floraduo, or the flora series... Or maybe dynagrow. The reservoir will be outside the temp help at an ambient temp of ~70 degrees. I plan to flood 3 times a day for 15 min in veg and 4 times in bloom. Do you guys think I will need. Water chiller? Any recommendations? I just want the easiest, most hassle free grow. all the help is appreciated!

You should be fine without a chiller as long as you run bennies or a sterile res to prevent any issues

If I plan do use this setup for a while can I just go with 1/4 hp chiller and set water temp to 65.... A few hundred isn't that big of a deal for a setup that has fewer PPm?.

Or you could just run your room at 70-74
Yea room is usually around 70 but I don't want to mess with it and have a chance at ruining my roots...

Mainline I carry heavy weight in your words.... When you say listen to my first reply... Do you mean to purchase the chiller? Thanks guys!

Well if the rooms at 70 do you really need to buy a chiller for the last five degrees? What is your rez temp now?

I have not had it set up yet. I grow soil as of now. Making the switch and trying to prevent as many problems as possible us all!

I run a 1/10th horse chiller on about 70 gallons of water, keeps it nice and cool although I use a huge igloo cooler as a main res.
I've run a killawatt meter on the chiller, the fan that removes the heated exhaust from the chiller and the water pumps involved. Cost to run for over a month 12 dollars. Peace of mind is def worth 12 dollars and I haven't spent a cent on beneficial bacteria or a sterilizing agent.

So..... You grow soil. And you're bored. Wanna try the dro. Of course and buy more stuff off the internet. I totally get it.

You'll probably go back to soil when you figure out how much of a pain in the asss dro can be.

Just saying. :bigjoint:

Ahhh, not running yet. If you run more than two lights id probably do it. I never needed one with two lights in a couple different spots, but if your stakes are high then why not?

Think that will do for 10-15 gallons of water?

iit aint thaaat bad if you spend the money on a good system and room. Big rezes with float fill valves can be left alone for a while just like soil.

It's winter and you are about 100% on the money... Another reason I'm switching to hydro is bc I got hurt at work and have trouble watering my plants. Easier to change res once week than breaking my back watering everyday. But spot on! Lol

Just one solar storm 440w for two Oxygen-potsystem on the analog timer!

Going to be flooding three times a day during veg and 4 in flower... Haven't decided on nutrients... Floral series... Dyna gro... Or Lucas formula.... So much research lol,

I've changed res once during flower this cycle and it's just about over, I do use a good water conditioner though, Flying Skull z7.
