I find that drinking sugar makes me feel dumber and more lethargic than anything else....I haven't had alcohol or soda going on 5 years now....
I always feel dumber, and sometimes angrier, the day after drinking alcohol, even if it's like a single beer.

I have a similar but not-exact reaction to soda as well, so I stick to water, tea, and cranberry juice, with the exception of a beer or shot of whiskey or 7UP here and there.

That's about the same thing I've been yelling for years now...

"Say NO to Marijuana....":cuss::cuss::cuss::cuss::cuss:

" There's just not enough for everybody ! "

Well,I've to say that I'm not that fond of sugary desserts and stuff ...
But ...

Usually I consume about half a liter of wine every other day or so ...
Some drams of fine straight bourbon or malt whiskey ,every other night or so ...
Have at least 5 to 8 cups of black coffee every single day ...
Have some years to take any kind of medication ...(not even a paracetamol pain killer )
Smoke ~25 grams of tobacco every day or so ...
Smoke ~ 3 to 5 grams of cannabis every day ,also ...
Work out ...during ..hmm .. sex ..only ...
I weigh ~ 70 kilos (154 lbs for a 5'10" height ) ,the last 25 years or so ...
Eat like a bird ...
Sleep like a dog .. ( 3-4 times a day x 1- 2 hours )
Work when i feel like it or need money ...

Never been to a doctor for the last 10 years or so ..
I get sick very rarely -and I fuckin' hate it when I do ...
I'm about 40 years old -but people say that i look at least 10 years younger ...
Read & study a lot ...
Listening to lots of music...
Have an old car ,parked and rusting ,cause I hate driving ,while I just love walking without a certain purpose and final destination ,just admiring this miraculous world that is surrounding us ......

And ...
Last but not least ...
I spend too much time posting at RIU forum ,from times to times ...

Well ...
Nobody lives forever ...
Who wants to,afterall ?

Still,while we are here ...
Personally ,I just want to have a -small- taste of everything ,if possible ...
Ok ...If not everything ..:P....At least as many things as possible...

C'est la vie...

Cheers.

At least a liter of coffee a day from various sources. Varies from cheap drip, percolated, pour over, french press, espresso, ect. I should eat more food and drink less coffee. Easy to forget to eat at times.

It makes me fucking stupid as hell. Recently, I've been getting more slow/depressed than usual and not wanting to do anything productive. I've been smoking for over a decade without breaks. Wake up, smoke... smoke smoke... sleep. I do think I'd be better off without it..

I guess some people really do react differently.
I get like that too at times. Normally when i'm stressing too hard on work or whatever else rocks my world.

My prescription is to smoke more euphoric strains, blueberry type strains.... More coffee than weed, and a little exercise everyday. Get a yoga dvd or something..lol. Works for me...a hour of deep stretching and listening to your body is great medicine for the body and soul.

Sounds like we all have quite a bit in common beyond the surface of building lights.

After being on probation, I see it was a blessing I'm disguise. I was getting out of control with my intake. Day to night. Didn't let 2 hours go by without smoking. Now I know it will only be when I am home and cooling down watching TV after work

I've been getting the same thing now that I stopped alcohol. I wanted more exercise, but when I had sugar, like PIE!!!, I would feel like my muscle were lazy.

I'm a bit of a slut when it comes to coffee... I won't turn it down, no matter what form it happens to be in. As long as the price is right :D

I feel it's another miracle substance that expands mind and consciousness.... especially in the wee hours of the morning...
coffee and chocolate, dark, unsweetened. Guess which one Sir Isaac Newton had to do without.

Isn't the PWM dimming just an input signal for the driver to reduce the current output rather than actually flickering the LED's directly?
As I understand it is the difference with LED is it's lack of persistence compared to any other light source. When the elections stop, light is over. There is no dim millisecond before it fully lights again.

I've made an Arduino based device ,not so long ago ,which bears the name " AutosDias" and it's purpose is to dim the LEDS/COBs to imitate the diurnal irradiance ( Dawn=>Noon=>Dusk) .Fully adjustable. It uses PWM dimming.

https://www.rollitup.org/t/the-autos-dias-project.855633/#post-11188892

PWM dimming is the worst option ,regarding the 3in1 dimming function of many branded drivers.
Not so much for plant illumination ,but for human vision illumination ,even at high frequencies of PWM ,
still causes flickering of LEDs / COBs .Not detectable from the human eye ,
but for sure detectable from human nervous system !
That's why I prefer either the "via resistor " or either "via voltage " control of the 3in1 dimming function.

Cheers.

I believe that all three methods of dimming (MW 3in1) lead to the same result - reduced current.

I emailed them and hopefully they can tell us how it works.

It probably has a low pass filter built in already to make it 3 in 1 if that's the case (Which i think it is).

Ok ,guys, you're maybe being right .
But ,using PWM signals ,I';ve noticed other results.
Now ..There's a small detail ,though ...

I did not utilised +10 VDC direct PWM signals ....
What I did with AutosDias was this ,actually :

Instead ,of using an external +10VDC PWm source ,the actual 10 Volt output of Dim + was used .
As you can see ,the transistor is "shorting" the Dim+ and DIm- .
(this actual schematic is wrong ,somewhat ,as in the real-life application the Collector of the transistor is connected to Dim+ and it's Emitter at Dim- ,and the diode was not used -but the diode is just a protection for the Arduino PWM output ).
This was done ,in order to save effort and money and use directly the +5 VDC signal of Arduino.

I'm not really sure ,if that way really differs from applying an external +10 VDC PWM signal .

And something else ,which i noiticed in action .
Avoid to common ground the DIm- with the ground of a device like a microcontroller.
Even if themicrocontroller is switched OFF ,the driver never reaches at full 100% of it's power .
(transistor open / inactive)

Still ,I remain not much fond of PWM signals for LED dimming.
Maybe it's just another mistake of mine that has lead me to trust so ,
but I prefer PWM only fora 4-wire Fan control ..

When it come s to 3in1 ,i still prefer the resistive way .
Simple ,passive components used ,very difficult for the resistor to fail
( with 500uA from each driver's DIm circuit it takes 50 drivers in parallel ,
to fry an ordinary 0.25W resistor..Or not ? ...
Haven't slept at all actually..Not the best moment for Ohm's Law ,right now ...:P )

Anyway ..That is based to what I 've experienced in person.
Still ,I may have chosen quite "anorthodox" way ,to apply PWm
and that's why flickering was evident ...

Time for sleep.
My eyes hurt already ,
from "vampirying" over electronic schematics throughtout the night ...
(it's already 11:00 am ,here... )

Cheers.

Brainstorming idea (in other words, probably flawed)

What if you had a 10V source and a bypass capacitor that was fed by a large series resistor, so it takes about 1 hour to charge the cap all the way to 10V. The output voltage across the capacitor could be used as an input to dim, so when the lights turn on, the dim input slowly goes from 0-10V as the capacitor charges. I'm assuming the dimming input is high input impedance and thus the capacitor output likely needs no buffering, but if that's not the case, you could put an op amp voltage follower after the capacitor to make it high input impedance.

Jeeze I hated jail.... Then I did probation for 3 years. Don't get busted with weight,

Don't do it.
