car problems

Hi, I m trying to figure out how to replace the battery terminals in my car. I bought some replacement terminals a week ago,and now in not even sure if there the right kind.
I called the auto place up the rode because I thought it would be better to have someone who knows what they are doing to fix it. Well he gave me a ballpark estimate. Just to get it towed 3 miles and half hour of labor will be over 100$. So I'm going to try and figure this out. I don't really have many tools either. I'll be trying to do all this with a pair of needle nose.
so I guess my first question is, did I buy the right terminals? Any help greatly appreciated!

Clean the ones on it with a wire brush. If they are not cracked they are OK. Also look at where they are crimped to the wire. Peel the wire back about an inch. If there is no corrosion tape them back up.

Looks like they just need a good cleaning. And clean the battery post. They make a wire brush for battery terminals.

Also they make a spray for the terminals and ends.

Clean it, charge the battery and see where your at.

The biggest problem is the wires will be to short when you cut them.

You cut the old cables with a hacksaw or something and cut off some of the covering to expose bare copper cable. Tighten the clamp part of the new ones around the newly cut and exposed copper cable. Cut the least amount that you can because you won't have very much extra cable to work with.

@whitebb2727 's right. i don't see you have much room to work with especially on the positive cable. look at how the factory end is configured and where the wire attaches to it at a 90 degree angle. just be gentle when you take them off (the battery).
Yea I just did this on my car. Identical to the positive side. It cracked where it went on the battery post. The cable ended up being about 2 inches short. I had to replace the whole positive cable.

It's been dead for a few days now. It's been jumped several times. I tried to jump it again last night and nothung turned on at all. Not even any lights. I wonder if I'll need to take it back to ealmart and get an exchange?

used to be (back in the olden days) cables had plenty of length but now, every inch they save is $$$. newer ones also have auxilliary power wires coming off them too

Not that I'm aware of.
I think the only wire brush I have is to clean the bbq grill.
I think I'll go to the hardware store up the rode and hope they have one of those brushes that was just posted.
