Intake and Outtake install on Discreet Window

I was wondering how you guys go about covering windows that can be seen and are used as intake and / or outtake windows?

I typically cover the window with a light thread tapestry or curtains, then block the window off with a piece of wood with a hole at the top for the outtake and one at the bottom for intake.

So far a light tapestry has been all thats needed to not see the ducting through the holes in the wood behind the tapestry in the window. However the tapestry does restrict a lot of airflow.

Any different suggestions to covering up a intake / outtake window but still allowing for good airflow?

hard to explain but i vent via a vent that was in room and intake i run a 5" flex ducting to windows sill and pin it to the windows slill with the hole upwords in a line with sill if your upstairs this can not been seen as its level with sill leave window open and fan will pull air in through the duct i use this in a tent then no need to cover windows at all i just close the curtains nightly as i do never had a single person ask

That makes sense. Im am trying to think about a bigger grow though. Say a 4k in one entire room... How would you correctly expel all that air through one window and do it discreetly?

I have been trying to figure out the best way hide it as well. I painted the wood i used black to try to make it less noticeable. I was thinking a dual duct portable ac window install kit could be pretty stealthy

extracting is harder to do have you thought of venting into the loft if you grow upstairs

im luck i have a old vent from the central heating system witch all houses have the same vent outside so not realy a problem for me

Thats not a bad idea, although I would like to use all the rooms for something and make each room self sufficient

Is it possible to duct it to existing ducting in your house. Last house i lived in i grew in a spare bedroom that had a bathroom in it. I ducted my exhaust to the bathroom exhaust system witch exhausted out the roof.

I ran a 6" duct from my basement up through my floors/ceilings to an attic vent. I attached an Airbox inline carbon filter to it and pump all my scrubbed hot air out the roof. On the main floor, I ran it through a closet so its quiet and non visible

A gutted out window ac works pretty well. No one gonn ask why air is coming from it.

Aren't there back draft issues with furnances? So routing the air through a room vent would only be safe if there is no furnace or central air? Otherwise I would be pumping the whole house full of the air in that room. Seems like really only a bathroom vent that goes directly outside would be work, unless I could find a room vent that only goes up to the attic and is not connected to cenatal air.

I don't recommend putting it into the central ac ducting. Go out the window or the ceiling into an attic if u have one.

Cutting wood for the window frame with holes for intake and outtake but you need to cover the wood so people can't see the wood and holes for vents? I use just a tapestry that's light enough for airflow but you can't see through... u guys have any alternatives to a tapestry to put in the window to cover but also have good airflow? I would like to have a bit more airflow than the tapestry allows, especially for a new 4k grow...

The black fabric stuff that goes on window screens. Make sure your intake is on the bottom and exhaust on top. If done the opposite, the hot air from exhaust will raise right into the intake.

A friend recently said to just buy the hard type of insulation board and that way I wouldn't have to rent saws to cut wood to the size of the window which I think is actually a really good idea... However do you guys know if that type of insulation will keep in the smell / sound as well as plywood would... in terms of blocking the window with hard insulation rather than plywood?
