The real GG#4 is a clone only strain. There are S1 seeds out there but you might need to do a pheno hunt to find a winner.
 
,I was doing a wrong sum ,each driver is going to have 3 cobs not 4 as i planned.
That is 150w on 1.4A or 75w on 0.7A right?
This build consist of 12cob each at 0.7A equal to 300w ,
on a 80x80 1 plant scrog.
Any suggestions?

My bad for yesterday posts, I didnt explain myself,im sorry I was on a hurry ,+ I jumped in.

Tazbud the driver is HLG-120H-C1400A which is dimmable as far as I know from 0.7A to 1.4A,pushing 3 CXB 3070 AD bin cob's.

No worries mate.
Iv'e not run that particular driver but I think you'll run into trouble, its current range maxes out at 108v and 3 cxa 3070 38.5 v each (115.5v) The 1050ma version should manage three.

Lol. My Bad! Ok, yeah, pushing the limit but should be ok?. I'm a few V's over on my HGVC's and they are ok, hot but I have 6x on the 1.05 150w/215v.

Thanks for the confirmation... Stupid me, I am at 18 PAR W/sq ft. I have 400w, not 200w of LED :)
 
i was curious what is the math behind calcualting Par W/ft²...
or overall efficiency...
i know it was answered somewhere in the 176 pages of this thread but i can't find it.
i wanted to know the specs of my build wich is a 4CXB 3070 AD bin + 2CXB3590
i sm running the CXB3070 @1.4 ma and i'm running the CXB 3590 @ 0.7 ma.
drivers are hlg 185c-1400A the one for the 3590 is dimmed to the min, i think i read here you could dimm it to a max of 0.7ma but i am not sure...
i remember that a CXB3070 AD bin has an efficiency of 48% @1.4ma and the CXB3590 of 51% @ 0.7ma
but what for both? any driver efficiency to take into account?
 
CXB3070 3K AD @ 1.4 = 49.8W * .48 = 23.9 PAR W * 4 = 96 PAR W
CXB3590 3K CB @ .7A = 48.9W * .517 = 25.3 PR W * 2 = 50.6 PAR W

So your total is 146.6 PAR W emitted. You could apply -10% for lenses/reflector/scatter losses so 132 PAR W. If you have a 3X3 tent that is 14.7 PAR W/ft² or:

14.7 * 4.66umol/s/PAR W * 10.7 = 733 PPFD.

The way I look at driver efficiency, if you are using HLG-120H or 185H series, it cant get any better, 94% and power factor corrected. The best HPS competitors claim 95% efficient ballast so they are in the same ball park but if the COB system can achieve the same yield with half the wattage, the HPS ballast losses are twice the COB driver losses and will affect system efficiency.

so...based on discussions here and some of your own grows accomplished with 15PAR W/ft² i see i'm in the right range :weed:( regarding the 14.7 PAR W/ft²). i thought about driving the CXB3590 @ max 1.4ma for 2-3 weeks in middle flowering... to help the buds fatten up ( i don't know if that makes sense???)
i would have 1.4A=103.94W * 0.3957 = 41.15 PR W * 2 = 82.3 PAR W
which would bring the total to 178 PAR W - 10% losses = 160 PAR W .
finally i would have in my 3x3 tent around 17.8 PAR W/ft² ...
sincerely i don't think it will make much difference and probably i will just let them finish like this, this round.
maybe i'll try this next time and see what kind of difference it may have to go from 14.7PAR W/ft² to 17.8 PAR W/ft² ...

going with a modest cxa3070ab build in the 3k temp range 1400 ma driver and arctic alpine 11 cooler are all on their way. Unfortunatley it will not be used for the purpose that everyone here is using them for (yet) though i am hoping it will win me a more sunlight like light source to photograph my glass pieces under and say i made it ; ) id like to thank everyone involved in any diy cxa forum post anywhere because it is likely i have read it lol. Whoo first post nice meeting y'all.

As a photographer, you might give high-CRI LEDs a try.

Alesh-It will only be used for photographs rarely due to me living in nevada and usually having great lighting all the time. Its another excuse for myself to justify the purchases ; ) will likely start a garden soon and keep adding these modules as i go, easier for my glass blowing budget at the moment lol.
 
I just built a light for purposes of vegging and also in the hopes of making the contents of my grow tent more photogenic, since I don't have anything going on in there right now I've no pictures~

If your purposes were solely for photography, I'd look into the Bridgelux decor series where their CRI is around 93-97.
