gentlemen, i know this is going to be a shocker.. but what exactly are T5's?

florescent lights(tubes)...I got mine for early growth but stuck with em....the great thing about them is you can put them close to the plants, opposed to hps... they give a good amount of lumens....stay cool, dont make noise, and low wattage....it was 100 dollars for my 4000 lumen(2foot, 2bulbs)... one mh one hps bulb...the farther plants are away from light the less lumen(x10 per inch) so the argument is since t5's can be closer the lumen output isn't that much less than those hps....i would recomend a four foot 4 bulb if you can afford it....you can buy it for like 150....

all i do is get some good seeds out of any great sack of weed i get and i plant them in soil over by a window seel once i see it starting tio pop out i plant it in a diferent pot with soil in y grow box for 15 days then i bring it out side in my bck yard on the side of my house and let it grow =]]

all done by a 14 year old

so cheezy these t5's are good for all stages of growth? and i can see from the pics that the yield is pretty damn nice on those plants. but you can grow all the way through with just the 4ft 4 bulb? is there any down side to this? how does it affect the light bill compared to like one 400W hps?

I wouldn't recommend using t5's for the whole grow....their best for seedlings and veg stage.....however if u want too, i would reccomend some with at leas 4 bulbs....i know they have some with 6 and 8....i was kind of forced to use the t5's cause i couldnt afford the hps plus my plants are too big.... it would be hard to fit hps a couple feet above them...my big yeild is due too taking them outside, constantly watching them, and lots of reaserch....

Topping is not always the best method it has it's pros and cons the pros are if the strain is capable of growing fast than you will get double the bud but if it is bag seed and you top the plant the branches may not grow thick and will result in the bud being smaller and having to use like tall sticks to support the plant before topping my advice would be to read about your type of seeds and if it is the top that grows very bushy than I would advise you to top them and just a little pruning.
