Oyster shell flour and gypsum help buffer soil ph aND add calcium and magnesium Also add crab meal for chitin
Gypsum is also a great source of S!

Kelp meal would be good to add - I love Kelp meal

You could short cut by using like a cup of tomato tone dry fert - organic (for the WHOLE bag) for the main "nutrient" amendment...

The kelp and alfalfa will med. release, so that helps some there.....

Yes kelp isisaazong shit as well as all the other stuff
I'd leave the lime in, it's only your 3rd grow, and then you don't need to really worry about phing everything that goes in
Oyster sell flour and gypsum both do the same thing at buffering the ph as well as give and mag unlike like that's mostly mag

Yea add some alfalfa gypsum and oyster four. You could.prob loose the lime if you wanted. You need areation. Break your soil down into 3 parts 33% soil 33%castings (homemade or equivalent) and 33%areation. For areation use oyster shells, rotted tree trunks, pumice, red lava rock etc. You need rock duct volcanic gypsum azomite I no I am missing some. I drew a blank.
Thank you so much. i've red lava rocks that i put underneath before adding the medium to the pot.

Put lava rocks all through out soil as its porous allowing microbes etc to hide in. Areation is super important. I also use cowboy charcoal also a type of biochar (per greasemonkeymann ) as it also adds areation
Charge it before you add to soil as it will absorb nutrients. So for ex steep alfalfa or etc and add charcoal to the bucket to charge "biochar"

LMAO!! i'm such a novices... I knew areation was important but not to this degree. Never used it like that. As of matter of fact I barely used any besides some the perlite. Now i understand why you and a few other people go up to 1/2 of the whole medium as areation. It amazes me tho, with the medium only consisting of only 35% soil, the plant can survive and grow healthy with the other 65% being minerals/nutrients and areation. Crazy....

I have been using Espoma products for a little while, the stuff is pretty hot. I have to cook mine for like 8wks, top dress is ok but still a little harsh... I have had my best grows with aged Bio-tone, same stuff but with added Myc...
I just got my order from Buildasoil.com, their Nutrient pack is already in proper ratios, so you just have to mix it! I will eventually get each item seperate, but this really saved some time on shopping... After you ammend your soil, they have a Re-ammend pack to recycle your soil. Topdress kits and Clackmas Cootz style amendments... Its more than Super! I got some charged bio-char for the mix also.

If you go the the "Blog" section on buildasoil, they explain how to mix everything and why they use their recipe.

I might be able to compare it to my Espoma soil soon!

I have been told that the Blood meal in Espoma is what burns the plants... Buildasoil.com does not use blood/bone meal. It really takes the guess work out!

How are you cooking it? I mean 8 weeks is a little harsh......I have a short cut bloom I like when I'm in a hurry and it use's a dry FF (HF Fruit and Flower) and is ready in 10 days - good long term nutes in there.....

I know Build a Soil......good stuff.....I still strictly build my own veg soils and up pot into Flower soils, same thing.....

Yup,,,,I don't do Blood meal either - antibiotic's show in testing .....But hey, the kids new to building and for 1.5 cf......it's not a bad short cut for new folks......You could use FF dry mix organic too..

I was about to start shopping for each individual ingredient, I would have needed to buy from 3 different stores. Then Hyroot mentioned Buildasoil

I use BuildaSoil kits and I don't have anything bad to say about them at all. I add alfalfa meal to it because I feel it makes the nutrient profile a bit more diverse. Also my plants feed like crazy so I figured it wont hurt. By all means let your soil cook/compost for a couple weeks or so. Until the temperature goes down. I just mixed up a fresh batch and that stuff is hot to the touch. The addition of alfalfa meal might be to blame also.

I have to admit ..this stuff sounds great

How to use this powder dry with your Neem Oil: Mix 1.5 grams (Just under 1/2 Teaspoon) AgSil 16H with 1 ounce Ahimsa Pure Neem Oil to emulsify the oil. Then mix this emulsified oil with one gallon final volume spray solution. Spray every other week covering all plant surfaces (top and bottom of leaves) until it runs off.
In Conclusion
Proactivity is the essence of the biological approach. If you understand how plants protect themselves, then you provide the necessary components to maximise that process and minimize the need for chemical intervention. In this context, silicon is an essential pre-requisite for proactive pest and stress management and should be an integral part of every good nutrition program.
