i got a timer i just forgot to put back on auto since i turn out the light for some check up
A check up? And this whole time I thought we were supposed to leave them alone for 12-13 hours and it turns out you're supposed to turn your lights on in the middle and check on them..

No but for real, don't turn the light on unless there's a problem and then be sure to turn it back off.. No more "check up" player.

Hahaha even more lame than I first thought..

So let me get this right?? Cuz I'm new and I want to be as good as you someday, help a brother out!!

I'm supposed to interrupt the lights on period so I can look at the pretty colors??

:dunce:

:wall:

But for real, just remember to turn the timer back on.. we've all been there

And then it turned back on after you turned it off? Whaaaaaa???

If the timer is too difficult for you this hobby just might not be for u.. Keep your game tight and you wont have to worry about that shit tho.. Until you learn how to do that, I would suggest learning how to work your timer properly.. switch on.. switch off.. But honestly if you keep messing with your switch I'm guessing you're the type of person who will keep on forgetting to switch your timer back on.. So figuring out how to mess with the switch as little as possible will probably be best for ya..

Mate honestly i don't think there is problem to turning the lights off for 5 minutes and using a secondary light to inspect
i guess could do that 5 minutes before the lights turn on. It just happened that i wasn't here when the lights came on.

No big deal. I wouldn't turn them out for no good reason tho, just if you need to take pictures.

Hps doesn't distort colors in real life like it does on digital displays. Sure it's yellow, but u don't need a special light to look at da ganja.

Hey op, just get them back on 12/12 and you most likely won't notice a difference from one day of a crazy light schedule. I wouldn't go around doing that all the time, but I don't think you will either.

Or if you need to see things with out the yellow hue from your hps you can always go in the room or open the tent 5-10 minutes before lights on and get a gander or 5-10 minutes after lights off and then shut it down.

I know this may sound crazy... But you can take the plants out of the room too most of the time.

I wouldn't cycle through on and off for an HPS unless your giving it ample time to cool off before you fire back up.. My 600 if it goes off I wait till it's completely cool till firing it back up

As the above comment states, you're fucking up your bulb and ballast.

If you can't move the plants, just bring in a 6500k cfl or an led flashlight or something, if it's really hard with the color from the hps, but I think most people using hps can kinda just tell what the differences are in color. I know when I'm at friend's houses checking out their plants I can tell the difference between purple and green, and green and light green, and red, and pale and burnt under hps, in agreement with xswimtothemoon.

of course you wouldn't have this problem if you'd been using a better grow light from the start. go CMH! "White" power!

The green light I don't really see helping you, if you can't see under an orange/yellow light why would a green one be any better?

hmmmm. Extra ten hours? I honestly don't know OP. But I'm always curious about wild plants and moon light, lightening and whatever and how it affects plants in the wild.

I would just let it grow and not worry about it too much. Let us know how it turns out.

how does it help r u retarted?
it allows u to work on ur plants during dark period it gives u light if u need absolute white light to see diff shades of colour then u have issues
green light true green will not interfere with lights out
