medical and recreational are VERY different. we as patients rely on MMJ daily to be able to function in society. without it, we would be on drugs that are far worse than MMJ. most of us would be zombies from the pharma.
when you talk about paying the legal price, you miss the plot. I can not afford to pay rec or LP prices so I can be fully medicated. i have a 14/day script and that would be $4200 a month at $10/g...I don't have that kind of $$ but if they allow home grows or DGs for med patients, the cost goes down to pennies a gram.
the rec market is just that...it's for people who WANT it so they are willing to pay for that privilege.
in my life, it's a need not a want
I understand the predicament med users are in, and I respect the fight you've all had to endure. Seriously, I feel for you but thank you all for paving the way.
But everyone needs to remember the supply and demand chain, the med scene has literally no competitors, a rec scene introduced to the market will allow an explosion of producers for everyone to choose from. It will bring prices down.
The only worrisome part as I can see it would be taxation and what it would do to pricing. Each producer will lower costs to compete for your cash, but as always the tax man will be there with a hand in your pocket too.
But legal is legal and med users will be able to grow their own and keep their money in their pockets.
Legalization is a win for everyone but the dealers.
