What is this exactly?

6500k will due for veg but you will want the 2700k or so when you flip to bloom...and id probly look for 250watt HID lights MH and HPS...on ballast can run both bulbs if you get the switchable ballast.
Too be honest dude, auto's are fun and all, but they need lots of light for good results, more than 6 or 7 cfls can supply. Koda is right 250 watt HID is a good starter light. But, I would do something else before buying any seeds, I would read, read, and then read some more. If your gonna do it, do it right.

Ok I'll look for the ffhf then. Too use for the transplant of this current plant and for when I start my new seedlings. Thanks. I'm not too sure if I can get those lights unless the hydro store has some used ones. Plus I have to figure out how to hook them up. They sound like real plant cookers though.
Nothing to hooking them up, they are plug and play. And, they will only cook the plants if they are too close to it. You can get them on ebay including bulbs for under $150.00 all day long.

250 Watt shouldnt unless you put it way to close....back of hand test helps, of its hot on the back of your hand its probly to close at that distance for a plant....im gonna guess stay 18 - 24 inches above the plants and all should be good...and imo there is no comparison for quality of light and results from the MH and HPS

Thanks. If I'm gonna buy those light I will probably get new ones on tax return. I want them to be full blast. Used doesn't sound good to me with lights.

Magnetic ballast (the cheaper to buy for a first try) should be fine to ger used, be careful buying used digital ballast....the heat cycles reall take a toll on the chips in them....they may work at persons house and the banging around on the way to your grow could shake loose a chip from the board or even beeak a chip on the board after all the heat cycles after 2-3 years.

And no there is never any point to buying a used light bulb......unnnnllleeeeessss....you cant afford a new bulb and one burns out then a cheap used bulb could be a life saver.

There you go dude, and until then read, research, and study. Knowledge can do more for a grow than all the lights, nutes, and toys. Not having it has killed many many plants...makes me cry...LOL!

BTW, a digital ph pen is a cool toy but unnecessary unless you are growing hydro. PH strips are much cheaper and not as easily broken.

Agreed knowledge is key, but imo the second place to not skimp at all is the lighting. Use this little plant to try out what you learn from studying and see what you can do. And let us know your results and dont be afraid to ask for help......just take it all with a grain of salt....if one person is saying it...maybe not the best idea, if 10 people tell you the same thing....its probly an ok bet, but still just a bet.

jorge cervantes on youtube and anything written by him will be good info to absorb.

A few years a go, me and a friend put together a butt load of videos in this very forum. Click on the Grow Video's post in the perma link section and there you are, I was under a slightly different screen name then.

Yea I've watched his vids. I find I learn more from the small scale grows on YouTube though. This plant is definitely just a test plant. I'll let you know if and when i get this thing in flower.

Here's the plant now. You can see it has grown a bit since the last pic. 12 days exactly. Did some noob lst on it the other day too. Switched it to 1.5 gallon pot and gave it some AFF. How much longer til I can flower and is there any trimming I should do? Just curious because this plant looks a lot different than other plants I've seen. It's short and bushy. Btw those leaves were burnt badly because the wife shifted my setup and when I went to check on it the light was basically resting on the plant. Yea I flipped out. I know this is the most noob setup you've heard of but I would appreciate any tips on what to do next.

Hey man. Yeah your plant definitely got big. My grow box is just a sterlite container (storage type thing) that's about a foot and a half long and a little over a foot wide and about a little over a foot deep. The box stays pretty warm around 75 but I have a problem keeping the humidity above 35%. No fans built in so I just have a fan blowing towards the small opening in the box. It's better than nothing I thought. No humidifier just using little wet hand towels for humidity. I'm using 130 true watts of cfl. Mix of blue and red spectrum. Only gave it some Alaskan fish fertilizer once. Says to use every three weeks but I don't know if I should use it again if I can switch to 12/12 soon. Gotta buy some bloom notes before then and a couple more red cfls. I did last the main stem and now there's some more tops growing. I would like to know if this plant is looking ok and if it will be ready to switch to 12/12 soon. It's been vegging for about 2 weeks but it's awfully short. Maybe 6 inches before I lst the other day. Should I prune it at all?

And your plant is so green. Mine is like a different shade of green lol. I thought it could be a kush variety since a lot of the kush plants I see have that same shade of green and they're kind of short and bushy like mine. I don't know what I'm talking about but that's my opinion anyway.
