One other thing fers in regards to your question. The main purpose of using mollasses or other "sweetner" is to feed the beneficial microbes. While plants do absorb and use some carbs directly, the microbes is what makes the magic happen. Every "sweetner" is some form of carb, usually mollasses diluted and sold for 10x price of carb used. Sometimes things like fulvic or humic acid ect. Are added but those are even more expensive. Mollasses is also good source of natural cal/mag and some micronutes. Keep reading and teaching your self. Rare is the hydro shop owner who tells you that you don't need the $100 of nutes he told you you needed. Again, unless your doing hydro. Although imo a bennie rez is simpler and easier to maintain than a sterile rez. But thats personal preference for few hydro grows I did years ago to try it.

Did you? I already addressed my opinion on the wsu article. That article is regarding ACT for disease prevention. This is fers thread and I'm not gonna argue on it or the net period.
Yes you are wrong. Have no idea what you are talking about. Saying benni micros don't do anything is just ignorant. Saying flushing does not remove salts and is beneficial to soil is again simply ignorant. You are wrong. Period.

Fers is smart and will do his own research like he has to this point.

Thank you for all of your warm words of wisdom. I also tremendously appreciate the recognition of my research. Much of it has been on websites like these, by searching specific topics on google. I also felt like jumping up and down when you said I am kicking ass for my second grow. I mean seriously, all that support really makes me want to learn even more. I also have been told my 99% of people that hydro will yield more. I suppose I will try it one day to experiment and see what the difference is first-hand. I will be honest in saying that I like the idea of an organic grow, especially if the quality is really that much better.

Just wanted to make a quick note that my mother and I work in the same office. Although my parents are divorced, the owner of the company we work for sometimes calls my father to perform handyman work around the facility. Today, he was working about 20 feet up on a very steep ladder, lost balance and fell backwards. Beneath him was an asphalt parking lot. He landed directly in the dead center on the roof of one of our company Ford Transits. I actually just got done at the hospital and back to work to take a look at what happened, he is 68 years old and did not break or fracture not one bone in his body. Attached is a picture that you can match the story with. I dread thinking about it but if if that van wasn't there, or if he had fell to the left or right 2 more feet, he probably would have died or been severely injured.

Today and for a few days I will only be happy that my dad is alive. I will feel no other way and no other feeling other than happiness and appreciation. This is 100% not me to say something like this, but do yourselves a favor and take a minute out of your day to show love to the ones you love. Send them a nice message, a quick call to let them know you're thinking about them, whatever you want.

I will get some pics this weekend and give official updates on Monday, going to spend some time at my Pops house and make sure everything is still feeling alright tomorrow.

Don't stop posting, loving everyone's opinions and viewpoints on everything. Gives me a lot of starting points for my own research and I hope I can be of at least some help to everyone as well. Have a great weekend all!!

Thanks bro @420PyRoS ...He went to the doctor yesterday and they gave him some painkillers. He is actually 100% mobile, he is just slower than usual - it's not like he can't get out of bed by himself though. Just happy he's alright!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, back to the journal. In the first pic is my bagseed lady in the wooden box. She is on Day 61 of flower. Still not sure about the trichs, telling the difference between clear and milky trichomes is a lot harder than it looks for me, especially when you don't have someone next to you to show you the difference first-hand. I THINK about half of them are cloudy and half of them are clear. What do you all think????

2nd and 3rd pics are just to show that the canopy looks good and fairly even, some parts are taller than others but I do very very LOW stress training on them every day by simply bending the taller branches down. I don't tie them or anything, too much work with there being 10 plants (might think about doing less plants next time and just LST the shit out of them to fill up the entire canopy.

Pic 3 shows a very minor calcium deficiency (I think). Can someone confirm?

Pic 4 show the leaf tips and edges turning a slightly lighter green. Anyone know what deficiency this is?

Pic 5 shows the same kind of thing. Not sure why they are turning that color. Need some help!

Sorry to hear about your Dad, as a roofer I know how easy it is to get complacent. Hope he recovers well!

The bud pic you showed is immature. Half of the pistils should be amber, at a minimum. There should be at least some cloudy trichomes, which need to be examined with a mag glass, digital microscope, or loupe. Some of the trichomes should be swollen (appear as if there's a seed inside them) to ensure maturity.

Your garden looks fine, I don't really see a deficiency. Lots of healthy, green leaves! What is your canopy temperature?

Well, I bought all feminized seeds. After checking over the weekend 8/10 are confirmed female, I figure the other 2 will show sex in the next couple days.

Yes, I would LOVE to do a perpetual grow. Keeps me busy :).

Also, I need some second judgement. Attached are photos I took over the weekend of all 10 plants. They range from 1 foot tall - 1.5 foot tall and are pretty much filling up the entire tent at this point. I am thinking of letting them get through this week and then flipping on the weekend, giving them a total veg time of 5 weeks.
Looking good bruh

Interesting Redskin avatar.

Are you supporting Native Americans or supporting the ball club?

@DesertGrow89 thx for the info on the bud pic. How much longer do you suppose they have? A rough estimate if you had to take a guess. I'll try to get a pic through my loupe to show the current state of the trichomes. Canopy temperature is now at a fairly constant 78 degrees F because of the weather - it is starting to hit the 40's and 50's which keeps the room a lot cooler and allows the intake to pull in cold air.

@shonuff_305 thanks bro - only my 2nd grow and my first legitimate one.

@Rrog I am a DC boy: Wizards, Nats, Caps and Skins. I go to about 4 games per year, I was actually at the game where Kirk had a game winning drive against the Eagles a few weeks ago. Not really into the whole debate over its controversy. It is more of a liberal agenda here in the US. Every Native American I have ever met isn't offended by it at all, it actually seems like most of the Natives I have encountered are indeed Redskins fans themselves. GO SKINS!

Cal or Manganese from those specks perhaps? Doesn't look concerning either way to be honest.
Glad your ol man is mobile again. Plants look great!

@Cookie_rookie Thank you sir. Before August I knew nothing about growing anything, I have been like a sponge soaking up as much info as possible the past couple months.

As for the switching, last night was their first night going 12 hours dark. So my flip date was November 12th and my seedlings popped on September 29th I think. About a 6 week veg. Yesterday all plants were at least 24" tall, this made me feel more comfortable about yield than only vegging 4 weeks.

When the ladies were as young as yours I set my ballast down to 400 watts, and about every 3 days would up it to the next setting (600w>750w>1000w>1000w boost) ..I would keep the light 2 feet away for right now. Not too far not too close. If they don't seem to be liking that then move to 2.5 feet.. Once they get a little height and start to noticeably grow I would lower that thing to 18" away.

I fimmed and topped mine at least one time each. Some of them twice. That way the lower branches can catch up and you can develop a fairly even and level canopy.

Do you have a journal going?

And Kirk's all like, "YOU LIKE THAT? YOU LIKE THAT!" Haha

Hey I was reading a little earlier in this thread about having to do all your research and stuff...I live in a pretty unfriendly place as far as this forum's subject matter goes, so I literally had zero help from anything besides Google and YouTube, and eventually RIU, and I ended growing some serious dank w bag seed and a 4bulb T5 lol. The best part of RIU and other forums is being able to compare a hundred different opinions and see which ideas seem to be more prevalent and to access knowledge from people you would've otherwise never have benefitted from.

@Giddy up lol...that was a cool moment for a die hard redskins fan like me. It's fun to watch our players show passion for the team, something we haven't seen in a while. But yeah man this site is such a huge help as well as Youtube and Google. Thanks for stopping by my journal.

@420PyRoS The ladies are looking beautiful. I flipped last Thursday so it has been one week. I am watering every other day because if I don't the plants will dry out. Canopy temps are a smooth 75-78 degrees and at night time around 66 at the very lowest. In the pics you can see how much they have grown or stretched since the switch. No signs of any deficiencies which I am so thankful for. We will see if that holds up through the next few weeks.
