Your anti intellectualism is on high this morning.I think your tinfoil cap is a little tight this morning, no? LOL!
Nothing I said was untrue. People continually whine and complain and blame the other party when government does something supposedly shitty for the country and ignore other motivations. The drug war has been radically effective for what it was intended.
And look, now that people are getting crumbs of legalization they're breathing big deep sighs of relief that things will be ok now when it's so far from it. Willing to accept harsh regulation because of course right?? Can't expect people to take care of themselves and if you are in a position of power (which is what politics is about, the entire subject - power) have the added benefit of helping to keep you there.
Nothing I've said is off base or out of touch with what is happening currently. Richard Branson came out and said the UN was going to discuss legalizing ALL drugs (in a very regulated manner of course!) and increasingly banks are not allowing deposits or withdrawls in cash. Many big name bankers have discussed going to a cashless society. And yes, banks are 100% dependent on drug money to remain solvent. Which is why they are continually caught laundering it. There are no reserve ratios anymore. Banks have loaned out in the neighbourhood of 100x more than they actually hold in deposit or assets because they are allowed to. This is fraud for anyone else (and similar to a ponzi scheme), but not banks.
The fact these are happening at the same time is no coincidence.
Meanwhile we just elected a guy who has a terrible platform for legalization - pure fascism and also has voiced tacit support for more extreme authoritarianism with the TPP and has publicly supported some seriously authoritarian anti free speech groups as well. So yeah, every reason to be very concerned at this point.
A cashless society is even more centralized control by the way. Everything tracked. Impossible to eschew banks and the system. Not good. Yet openly discussed at length.
