I think your tinfoil cap is a little tight this morning, no? LOL!
Your anti intellectualism is on high this morning.

Nothing I said was untrue. People continually whine and complain and blame the other party when government does something supposedly shitty for the country and ignore other motivations. The drug war has been radically effective for what it was intended.

And look, now that people are getting crumbs of legalization they're breathing big deep sighs of relief that things will be ok now when it's so far from it. Willing to accept harsh regulation because of course right?? Can't expect people to take care of themselves and if you are in a position of power (which is what politics is about, the entire subject - power) have the added benefit of helping to keep you there.

Nothing I've said is off base or out of touch with what is happening currently. Richard Branson came out and said the UN was going to discuss legalizing ALL drugs (in a very regulated manner of course!) and increasingly banks are not allowing deposits or withdrawls in cash. Many big name bankers have discussed going to a cashless society. And yes, banks are 100% dependent on drug money to remain solvent. Which is why they are continually caught laundering it. There are no reserve ratios anymore. Banks have loaned out in the neighbourhood of 100x more than they actually hold in deposit or assets because they are allowed to. This is fraud for anyone else (and similar to a ponzi scheme), but not banks.

The fact these are happening at the same time is no coincidence.

Meanwhile we just elected a guy who has a terrible platform for legalization - pure fascism and also has voiced tacit support for more extreme authoritarianism with the TPP and has publicly supported some seriously authoritarian anti free speech groups as well. So yeah, every reason to be very concerned at this point.

A cashless society is even more centralized control by the way. Everything tracked. Impossible to eschew banks and the system. Not good. Yet openly discussed at length.

“If you want to help the court in an objective fashion and you didn't take any of these steps, then you were bound by as a law enforcement officer. You were not an independent researcher.”

It was like watching a child show his failing report card to a stern father. But worse. This was the justice arm of the state and nobody believes the propaganda more than a cop. You could feel it in the courtroom. The heavy tone of Vaze's terse got right to the man's soul. Holmquist almost sounding like he was crying. His “yes” answers become so faint they were barely audible.

Not quite done reading but had to put that up there... hopefully it works out. Didn't see the whole transcript linked I'll have to dig. Preferred to have read it line by line myself even though it would take a while. Thanks.
look here for the complete transcript

Nothing anti-intellectual about me, I was just having fun. I don't agree with ANY of your points, though. What exactly is Trudeau's 'terrible' platform for legalization? Do you have a link or something to it, or were you briefed privately? "pure fascism" and "extreme authoritarianism" are traits associated with the previous CON criminals...Justin has been PM for a week. I am not going to get into a political argument with you because our views are very different, but when one combines legalization, government conspiracies and the takeover of society by the banks, it comes across as irrational fear mongering.

I agree with you, whats with all this Justin / Legalization bashing? He has not been in yet a week, it seems to me he is doing all kinds of great things already, Cannabis is coming, stop bitching like a bitch, the fact is until it happens your life is the same as it has been, do you smoke your bud, stop crying about your pot issues.

No matter what we are moving towards a brighter future, any type of legalization is a great step forward, once the laws are set we can lobby to make amendments. The fact is legal pot is the icing on the cake, Native rights, getting out of war, getting better fighter jets, creating jobs through infrastructure building projects, the list goes on all of that is more important then Cannabis (And I love Cannabis it is my life hobby), and so far it seems they are moving on all of the above stated so give it sometime it will come and it will evolve.

Thanks for providing this link, finding things related to the case is less than intuitive sometimes.

I've just read through some of Phelan's comments (not all since the transcript is huge) and I don't think he's been overly negative to the plaintiff side, Judges are generally like that when it comes to process and Phelan seems like a no nonsense kind of guy.

Still fingers crossed. I think R v Smith was really good for us because it further extended the 'need to chose between medicine or not going to jail' further to the type of cannabis you ingest.

i am curious about what his "legalization" will look like.
i am very hopeful we will get to produce for ourselves.
If we get home grows for medical he'll have a very hard time taking them away for rec.

The biggest danger now is the CMCC or whatever the LP lobby organization is, run by Philippe Lucas and Delta 9 just signed on. You can bet they'll be involved as a 'safety expert' or whatever and will try their best to take away home grows. So, contact Justice/Health Ministers as you are able to tell them home grows have to be part of any solution.

i just couldn't keep my eyes open..very dry read but good insight. the tweets show we were winning by a landslide and the Crown and their witnesses looked unprepared and off their game. when i read some of the transcript, i read some good things from both sides. there's only so much you can fit into 140 characters
i still think the Judge sees our side....but will he rule in our favour....PLEASE!! and soon

Probably what the judge is saying to himself..... how as a judge can you give a decision on a case if your outline for MMJ is harsher than what a rec user will be able to do with their store bought legal ass weed
So until something on legal becomes firm he's going to ponder about it

What a coincidence.

Saw a bunch of other cashless society stories in the past month too.

We will live in a totalitarian nightmare if we accept this by the way. 100% guaranteed.

The liberals horrible platform is up on their website where it states tight controls and corporate grown. Worse is apparently people would like things to be that way.

Every Liberal who's said anything about the TPP that's committal says it's a good deal now that they've read it (LOL they haven't read it, it's 6000 pages and it's law which makes it much harder to read than a book). And it gives the power to write law to unelected corporte cronies which cannot be undone after we sign unless we go to war over it.

The Liberal 'Marijuana platform' from their website doesn't mention 'corporate grown' or any other kind of growing, and it has absolutely nothing to do with medical...we're a whole 'nother animal. Fines and prison have done jack shit to stop the black market in the 80 years of prohibition and I don't see that changing if they tried to force over-priced corporate bunk on people. I'm positive patients will keep/get the right to grow, and I think Rec will go the way Colorado did and allow 6 plants per. Just my 'glass-half-full' take on it. I'm still confused where cashless society meets growing weed though, and I ain't even high! lol

We will legalize, regulate, and restrict access to marijuana.

Canada’s current system of marijuana prohibition does not work. It does not prevent young people from using marijuana and too many Canadians end up with criminal records for possessing small amounts of the drug.

Arresting and prosecuting these offenses is expensive for our criminal justice system. It traps too many Canadians in the criminal justice system for minor, non-violent offenses. At the same time, the proceeds from the illegal drug trade support organized crime and greater threats to public safety, like human trafficking and hard drugs.

To ensure that we keep marijuana out of the hands of children, and the profits out of the hands of criminals, we will legalize, regulate, and restrict access to marijuana.

We will remove marijuana consumption and incidental possession from the Criminal Code, and create new, stronger laws to punish more severely those who provide it to minors, those who operate a motor vehicle while under its influence, and those who sell it outside of the new regulatory framework.

We will create a federal/provincial/territorial task force, and with input from experts in public health, substance abuse, and law enforcement, will design a new system of strict marijuana sales and distribution, with appropriate federal and provincial excise taxes applied.
